ktvu's christina rendon has the story. >> reporter: a new york jewelry supplier is out nearly half aillion dollars, after precious jewels were stolen right from his hand in san carlos. the 43-year-old wants to remain anonymous, but tells me he was headed to jeffrey's diamonds and goldsmith. the director of operations at the store had no idea about the robbery until after it happened. >> we had just closed and so it didn't have much to do with our store. the person who got robbed was coming to our store, but was not here. >> reporter: the jeweler had just crossed walnut street, when a group of masked men shouted at him, one man got out and pointed a gun and stole his briefcase. >> if he had parked his car somewhere else and gone somewhere else, if he was followed, he might have been robbed then. >> reporter: the jeweler thinks he was followed to san carlos. he says his briefcase had diamonds and other high end jewels valuing upwards of $400,000. the san mateo county sheriff's office needs the public's help tracking down the four suspects, last seen in a silver honda, with paper licens
