. >> nbc 10's christine maddela joins us live in germantown with more on this family dispute. christine, what can you tell us? >> reporter: philadelphia police detectives are still out here on mcmahon street at the scene. you can see there's some crime scene tape at the home where this happened. now, police tell me they expect to get a search warrant within the next couple of hours so they can search the home. here's what we know from the preliminary investigation. just after 9:00, police showed up after they got reports of gunshots on mcmahon street. when they got here, they found a 45-year-old man shot in the stomach. crews took him to einstein medical center where shehe's in stable condition now and undergoing surgery. police tell me the man's 78-year-old mother is the one who shot her son. they're still investigating but police say it looks like son may have had a gun and tried to shoot his mother first when he got inside the house. right now, police are talking to neighbors as well as to the 78-year-old woman that detectives are interviewing her, and possibly witnesses in

reporting live in mayfair, christine maddela, nbc news. >>> the only woman to be charged in the child abduction trial went on trial from 2013. she passed on a plea deal. >> how is the jury shaping up? >> reporter: well, when i was in the courtroom a while ago, they selected eight jurors. they need 12, plus had alternates. meanwhile, christina was offered a deal of sorts. 40 to 80 years to avoid trial. she quickly passed on that. christina looked very different in court from the woman you see in this police mug shot. today with shoulder length hair and dressed in a white t-shirt and black slacks, she told the judge that she would stand trial. she denies being dressed in muslim garb taking a girl out of an elementary school in january of 2013. the child was found 18 hours later in this upper darby park barely dressed. police say she had been blindfolded and sexually assaulted, mutilated in this home near where agus stus was living. she had contact with the child in an after-care child care program. the case made national news after it was revealed that the kidnapper posed as the child's
