christine romans. we begin this morning with seven people killed and one critically injured in california's second mass shooting in just three days. this one in the northern coastal community of half moon bay. this exclusive on the ground footage shows the arrest of the suspect identified both by police as 67-year-old chen li zshao. two hours after the shootings at two separate locations. we have more. >> reporter: this is one shooter going to two different locations killing a total of seven people and leaving at least one in critical condition. according to authorities, this happened at around 2:22 p.m. on monday local time here in california and the shooter went to the first location shooting at least five people, killing four and leaving one in critical condition. then he goes to a second low kagts about a mile apart and that's where he killed three others. now we have been told by sources that this was a mushroom farm. authorities are describing this as a nursery, but in general this was an agricultural area and we know that they were not able to arrest him until about 4:30 p.m. local time. that's when a law enforcement officer spotted the suspect, spotted his car at the sheriff's

christine corpus. i would like to start by offering my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, their coworkers, the coastal community, and the city of half moon bay. this kind of shooting is horrific. it is a tragedy that we hear about far too often, but today, it has hit home in san mateo county. today at 2:22, deputies were dispatched to the 12 700 block of san mateo road, highway 92, an unincorporated san mateo county, on the report of a shooting with multiple victims. upon arrival, four victims deceased with gunshot wounds. a fifth victim also suffering from a gunshot wound was transported to stanford medical center with life-threatening injuries. the suspect was not immediately located. shortly thereafter, three additional victims were also located, deceased, with gunshot wounds at a separate shooting scene in the 2100 block of cabrillo highway south. the motive for the shooting is currently unknown. through investigation, the suspect identified as zhao chunli, a 67-year-old half moon bay resident. at 4:40 p.m., zhao in his vehicle in the parking lot of those sheriff's substation here in half moon bay. by a sheriff's deputy. zhao was tak
