christine romans is here this morning.iger. good morning. >> good morning. tiger woods by the numbers. this is incredibly important because everyone is looking to april 8th, the comeback of tiger woods. his salary, 2008, more than $7 million, endorsements, $92 million, total take home, almost $100 million. forbes interestingly says over his career he's almost made a billion dollars. tiger woods was asked about that recently at a press conference, well, not recently, before he got into this little, shall we say, indiscretion, and he actually laughed about that, said, no, i'm not a billionaire, far from it. the sponsor who is dumped tiger after his problems began -- gatorade, at&t, and accenture, you might recall, he was the face, the image of accenture. they had to quickly change gears. nike and electronic arts stood by him, and tiger's role was de-emphasized in gillette and the watch maker tagheuer. this is going to be a very big deal for the broadcasters and they're already stirring it up about what a big deal it will be.

chief business correspondent ali velshi and christine romans in new york. ali -- ladies first. e. let me start with your better half here. look, christine, break this out for us. the jobs report for february, good and bad here. >> well, look, we still have a very big chunk of people who have been unemployed for a very long time. 40% of people have been out of work locker than six months and that is -- >> the chronic unemployed, correct? >> yeah, this is a problem. but ali and i were just having a vigorous debate with a couple of economists who are on our show this weekend and they were saying -- one of them was saying, look, outside of that 40%, there's some action happening for people. there's some -- the length of unemployment is shortening a little bit by just a few days. now you can expect to be unemployed 208 days instead of 212 days. at least it's going in the right direction and you're seeing big job losses slow. what i'm still concerned about and i think ali is to is the big chunk of people that have to be absorbed back into the labor market. it's going to take years to

stephanie elam here for christine romans this morning, "minding your business."s going into effect. >> that's true, and this is something you need to know about. you give somebody a gift card, you think they'll use it, the greatest gift they can want, but a lot of people lose them as the case may be for someone sitting at this desk. >> somewhere. >> somewhere over there. well, they do have a time limit. let me tell you what's going on. the federal reserve wants to put these rules together to protect consumers. the rules go into effect august 22nd of this year. they'll limit fees issuers can charge on gift cards, including for inactivity, dormancy and other fees. they'll have to clearly state the terms and conditions of these fees so the consumer knows what they're up against here. they'll only be able to charge fees after a year of the card not being used and after that the fees will be limited to one a month, and they can't charge fees -- i should say they extend the expiration date for gift cards to at least five years. should be plenty of time for you to go ou
