the so-called vigilante luis hernandez remains in jail for killing christopher soriano on new year'sarturo santiago joins us. it was a pretty tense situation out there, right, arturo? >> reporter: we found ourselves right in the thick of things. the alleged vigilante made a brief court appearance. as his family was leaving the courthouse they came face-to-face with the family of the man he's accused of killing. it quickly became an ugly confrontation. family and friends of 35-year-old christopher soriano, the alleged burglar who was shot and killed on new year's eve by 26-year-old ricardo hernandez, were yelling and swearing at the hernandez family as it left the courthouse. >> i don't think anyone deserves to die. if he was committing a crime, which he wasn't, you know. >> reporter: officers restored the peace,
