he said i will be nominating christopher a.ray, a man of impeccable credentials to be the new fbi director. details to follow. what are some of those credentials? here's what we know about mr. wray. he was the assistant ag in charge of the justice department's criminal division from 2003 to 2005. he led the enron task force and led efforts to address corporate fraud while at the department of justice and he received the department of justice's highest award for public service. i just got an e-mail a few minutes ago from a former high ranking fbi official who gave me his take on christopher wray. he said wray has a good reputation, he's confirmable, but big job for someone with his level of large organizational leadership and management experience. will be big learning curve. then something to point out here that this is a pick from sort of the establishment's republican law enforcement circles and he knows james comey. in fact, he worked for comey at the department of justice when he was the head of the criminal division. s com

guest: i actually know christopher. i would like to point out that i was a career loyal and not a political appointee. christopher wray is a highly qualified professional and everyone who expects the fbi to do a real and objective investigation will get that from him. i would also like to point out about director comey, rimmer that last year, democrats all over capitol hill and elsewhere were rightfully calling for him to be fired. he should have been fired because of the way he mishandled the clinton email investigation. he took a lot of steps that he should not of taken. the fbi director is in charge of doing federal investigations. when they are done, that has to be turned over to the justice department, where the prosecutors and the attorney general decide whether or not the evidence uncovered in the investigation is worth prosecuting, what there is enough there to after someone. he short-circuited that. he held a press conference where he said well i decided that hillary clinton is not going to be prosecuted and th

christopher docky joins us from paris. thanks for joining us.is the third attack in britain in three months. second on a bridge. and police say they have foiled other plots. why is the uk so heavily targeted? >> well, if you talk to french counterterrorism experts, they'll tell you a couple things. one is that it's gotten much harder to carry out terrorist attacks here in france. a number of them have been thwarted. there were terrible experiences here, november 2015, where the bataclan concert hall was hit and outdoor cafes were hit. we lost 130 people in those attacks. we had the brussels attacks, the nice attack last summer on bastille day. since then, apparently, they have been able to crack some of the communications that are used by the terrorists and taken other measures here and made it much harder. the argument is or one of the things being argued is as it gets harder to attack in france, harder to attack in paris, you see the terrorists choses places where they have more freedom of operation. as great as the operations were taken down
