reno police have arrested two people-- gas station in stead. 18-year-old christopher kerns is facing charges of armed robbery and possession of controled substances. police say he was with a 17-year-old whose name has not been released. reno police say the robbery happened just after 2 o'clock this morning. they say kern and the 17-year-old-- used a b-b gun, to hold up the cashier of a cheveron- jackson food store, on stead boulevard. a police officer was near the store at the time of the robbery and saw the suspects running away. the two were arrested a short time later. ### a mother and daughter have been arrested after a welfare check found children and animals living in what deputies call "deplorable" conditions. deputies went to the home of 61-year-old kathleen dean and 41- year-old joleen dean in sun valley to help check on several animals on the property. deputies found animal waste throughout the house. child protective services determined the condition of the home was hazardous for the three children living there. the deans are facing three counts of felony child neglect plu
