it's very, very interesting to me to review that estimate from christopher wray the director of the fbi and just moments ago i came from hearing the crime subcommittee of which i'm the ranking member. that committee hearing, fines and fees being excessive. they violate the due process rights and put people on a collision course of reoffending. i find it interesting as we work our today. what we have here today as a group of congressmen and women who ask questions this and we want to know we went to the bottom of this how these individual been treated? how are they being treated will they await their day in court? some are being held without bail. some are reportedly held in solitary confinement for no reason. it leads us to wonder are there rights being protected? it got to recognize his due process rights for everyone. everyone. i would expect it for those who i politically disagree with. i would expect to due process rights to be invoked for the most heinous of criminals because we rely on the rule of law in this country everyone is to be treated equally and similarly before the law.
