let's bring in chuck rosenberg, former u.s. official, now an msnbc contributor. chalk, fantastic to talk to you about the stuff. i got to say, i read through these full 39 pages of this indictment, and there are some really stunning details in this indictment. but talk to me about how difficult it is to prove bribery for official duties. >> it's a great question. and the department of justice has struggled with that over the years, because the supreme court, in a 2016 case, i believe, mcdonald, former governor of virginia, has narrowed the definition, yasmin, of what constitutes an official act. but here, like, you i read the indictment. i find it compelling, and the official acts that are alleged, they are trying to, for instance, help the government of egypt. or trying to intervene in a criminal case. or trying to help businessmen when a monopoly. i'll strike me as official acts. so, my sense of is, it is well pled and avoids the problem you and i just discussed. what is an official act? >> i also wonder if prosecutors will t

attorney chuck rosenberg.t the other defendants. >> yeah, i read judge jones' decision and i thought that it was thoughtful and thorough. i think that it is probably impervious on appeal. although that may turn in some part on the panel you draw on the 11 theth circuit court of appeals. but as a matter of fact and a matter of law to your point, mark meadows was acting outside the scope of his official duties as white house chief of staff. that means when he seeks to remove his case to federal court, he loses. so, you know, i never thought that it would a frivolous attempt by mr. meadows to remove the case. he has a lot of reasons why he would want to do so. but i didn't think that it was going to prevail. it didn't. i think that judge jones was right to say that i'll listen to anyone who wants to make a similar motion and i'll judge each case on its merits. but i think by and large it will be hard for other state defendants to get their cases removed to federal court. again, i thought it was thorough and thoug
