chuck coppola is live for us. certainly a good amount of rain that had an impact on the reservoirs as well. >> reporter: jess, they're calling it a good start. that's according to water officials here. at the reservoir behind me, it's very small but also kept very full. still, this reservoir rose for ten straight hours. a week's worth of storms to create measurable runoff into the county's largest reservoirs. but at this reservoir, even one moderate rain can make a difference. before the storm, the reservoir, the smallest in the santa clara county water district was at 73% capacity. after the storm, it rose to 83%. >> yeah. it's running real good. one rainfall. we need a lot more than one. >> reporter: overall, there was a third of the sforj capacity it needs. it provides only 20% of the water used by 2 million customers. the largest share, 80%, comes from the sierra snow pack. on the peninsula, the storm turned out the lights at college park elementary school. parents were notified via twitter, facebook and e-mai

in santa rosa, chuck coppola, nbc bay area news. >> and a follow-up for you, more could be revealed thiseek about south bay's delayed hospital project. the new building at the santa clara valley medical center is months behind schedule, millions over budget. over the next few days the new construction company, bolt, is expected to finish its evaluation of the project. the former company, turner construction, is being sued by the county right now. nbc bay area broke that story as the county's frustration boiled over. the buildings have missed several deadlines since construction began five years ago. a county spokesperson tells us the delays are costing santa clara county more than $100,000 a day. >>> so mental health workers will not strike in oakland today after all. a health care workers union reached a tentative agreement with kaiser permanente in oakland allowing mental health workers to provide with affordable treatment without fear of discipline. officials have also agreed to rescind the proposed cuts to workers pension benefits. members will vote to ratify this agreement in the co

there coppola is live there. chuck, it had to be disturbing for people if that theater suddenly told to evacuate. >> reporter: disturbing and inconvenient. fortunately, however, no bomb was found. but it was a very busy night here at the great mall century theater complex behind me in mill paid as. a large crowd was here when the telephoned bomb threat came in at 9:25. shortly after that, within five minutes evacuations started of 250 people. century theater remained close. in fact closed early tonight after the bomb threat was called in. a police spokeman said no ransom nor demand was made by the phone call that was answered by a telephone employee. police add that the caller's voice was disguised. the plaza outside the theater and a nearby outback steak house restaurant were also evacuated. both remained closed after police gave the all clear roughly 45 minutes later. >> we were watching the movie. it just start, actually. and then all of a sudden there is two guys that come in that says i'm sorry you have to vacate
