warren churchill is certifiable. but it took the university, spent a million dollars probably and they had to organize a panel. first of all, warren churchill was what? he was the chairman of his department. that means his whole department voted to hire him, even though he had no academic credential, he had an experimental college gave him an m.a. in communication, it was not ethnic studies, he has no ph.d., he was not an indian, and it was an affirmative action post, but he lied to get in. throated him first to be an associate professor, that's to get 10 you're, then to be a full professor, then the whole department had to elect him chairman and he had to have recommendations from the field. so that tells you that the entire ethnic studies field is corrupt, it is an indoctrination in radical, anti-american views, and it thinks that ward churchill is the cat's meow. i did a book called the professors which described all this, and of course, it was -- i was pillared from one end of the country to the other by liberal

i'll use the ward churchill example you used. you brought that up. one of the things i see is people don't understand the first amendment is to protect freedom of speech from the government, the government cannot repriest our freedom of speech. but what you see more and more is people when -- again, you see the ward churchill example. when bill o'reilly said we should boycott, tell the alumni not to send in money, people were up in arms. they wanted him -- that that -- he should be investigated, brought up on charges, violation of freedom and speech and people don't understand that is not a violation. one last thing is that in private, a private school, a private business, a private home, if i tell somebody i don't want you to say that, you can't say that here, i can do that. that's not a violation of the freedom of speech. >> that's right. i mean, right, that's absolutely right. the first amendment applies to government. congress shall make no law restricting the freedom of speech. congress can't make a lou that says, hey, "new york times," you can'

churchill was against it but it was august 15, 1944. by then the swaituation had improved in normandy, the eastern front so the invasion of south france helps outflank the german position in france. at that point the allies are in the campaign they want, especially the americans. it is a mobile campaign, heavily mechanized and dependent upon vehicles, which the u.s. army was the most mechanized in the world at that time. designed to fight, slash and maneuver. sour seeing that by august of 1944. then paris is liberated which is a great political moment for the allies. and the whole advance was just rolling across france. the germans are in retreat. there is a lot of excitement that the world could be over by christmas. but this is too good to be true because of supply issues. the soviets had run that supply issues the farther they advanced in poland, parts of the balkans and the western allies had the same issue once began to advance across france. they had the material but they couldn't get it several hundred miles to the east where it
