let's get to cierra johnson. a lot of uncertainty going into the week. >> reporter: yes, exactly. when the state announced their latest numbers on thursday it was presented with the caveat that the cases may be higher than they're presented because there's been a glitch in the system used to gather that data and because of that data glitch the state is not adding any additional counties to the list and they're not taking any counties off of that watch list. now the watch list is made up of counties that did not meet the six metrics including case rates above 10 per 10,000, people over a 14 day period and hospital increase of 10% or more over three days. every county in the bay area is on that list and required to close gyms and malls. they are not coming off the list despite the fact "the mercury news" reports san dmateo and santa clara is close to being off of it. >> we don't know if we can open one day, close the next day. we're just playing it by ear. >> reporter: right now no word on how long it will take the state to correct the system glitch. as many counties sit in the dark
