i did want to address on the merits of president cindy elias. i wanted to say this is going to be so far my political career this will be the nicest and appreciative no vote. i just wanted to express to president elias, my appreciation for her dedication. i will say if there is a commission that deserves salaries is a police commission as much as any other. police commission meetings for those who haven't been through them are often long and contentious. you are only seeing the public portion of it because there is a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes in closed sessions and there is not a single person that hasn't said that president elias is a hard worker. this precedes me in the city attorney's office and wayne who was a mentor to me, an lgbtqia plus member with harvey milk whose desk i sit on. who created a great lgbtq plus community. i believe that commissioner elias is worthy of being a commissioner, but there are times that i will have to cast a vote not because i question anyone's commitment or competence or being a great person, but just
