forecaster cinthia pimentel she's tracking the storm for us. but we begin with team coverage this morning on today in the bay with bob redell. so, bob, more help from the bay area now heading to those zones impacted. correct. good morning to you, marcus and laura. you and our sister station in sacramento, kcra is also reporting that both hurricanes helene and now milton have strained the resources of the american red cross. and as a result, the california gold coast american red cross, which represents sac and the surrounding counties, is asking the public to step up and volunteer. the red cross says they need more volunteers who can help with tasks like logistics, mental health and shelters. we know that the american red cross northern california coastal region, which represents our area, has already deployed almost 70 people here from the bay area to the southeastern part of the united states, again, to deal with both helene and milton. and we wouldn't be surprised if they are looking for help as well. governor newsom of california, sending m

let's go now to cinthia pimentel with more. we are going to be going into tonight with the windows open, trying to find relief anywhere to get some rest for our saturday evening. the fans going, the ac, we are going to need it as we take a look outside right now. clear skies through san francisco out towards livermore and the valleys and temperatures running very warm right now. 60s and 70s. but one place that could be looking at that relief half moon bay right now, that center at 59 degrees. but we do have more of that heat on the way. let's get you more details on that microclimate weather alert. as we go on into what will be day seven of our excessive heat here in the bay area. the warnings have gotten extended into 11 p.m. tomorrow night. areas shaded in pink could go into those upper 90s low 100 seconds. and of course, everything is bone dry. not the day to be doing any yard work or any exercise outside. as we talked about that spare the air alert day. now, as far as what we're going to be doing, trying to plan our day, if

i'm kira klapper cinthia pimentel has a quick look at that microclimate forecast. we had a chilly morning yesterday, but it turned into a beautiful day. and it sounds like you're saying maybe a little bit of the opposite. exactly correct. kira good morning. good morning everyone. she got it. we are looking at those low clouds and fog from san jose over to san carlos, pleasanton, santa rosa. notice that the temperatures though starting in the 50s and 60s this morning, we are anywhere from 9 to 15 degrees warmer up there in napa, oakland, and down here in morgan hill as that front sweeps through the bay area. this morning, most of those shower chances going to stay to our north. but throughout the day you will notice more of those clouds creeping in for our sunday, bringing down the temperatures and also the breeze along with it. we're going to have some cooler days ahead, not only during the daytime, but at night as well. putting the br in october and we'll look towards some more shower chances in that 7-day forecast. kara, back to you. all right cynthia, thanks. th

i'm kira klapper cinthia pimentel has a quick look at our microclimate forecast.t looking right now? we are starting off a little bit muggy in some spots as that dew point approaches our current temperature readings, we are in the 60s to start upper 60s right now in san jose with those low clouds and the fog drifting around, you can also see it socked in right there through santa rosa. so some drizzle to be aware of too, as you make that early morning drive this sunday, taking it hour by hour for you of course. fog. definitely the concern as we get ready for the big blue angel show later on this afternoon, we're going to keep that marine layer through about the morning hours, then start to see those cloud ceilings lift a little bit higher for today so that could allow them to get more of those high energy performances in the city for today, around two 3:00. and as we take it temperature wise and see that outlook for this morning, we'll keep it in the low 60s and that fog through san francisco for the morning hours and then get into some clearing and even some mild

well, we're going to turn to cinthia pimentel now with a look at that scorching heat.k is through san francisco, we are off to a mild start. there already in the 60s down here in san jose, 67 degrees to start our day. that's a live camera. we have right behind us. you might have noticed yesterday we had a few more lingering clouds. that was because there was a little bit of some tropical moisture moving up. so at times it did feel a little humid. but for today, we are going to amplify that heat once again. we are sitting well above average for places like santa rosa, 100 for you today. oh two in concord, 89 in san francisco. very, very warm. so i think ocean beach and finding yourself around the marina for as much relief as you can get, that will be the way to spend our saturday 100 in livermore to 96, in san jose, of course, much warmer as you make your way into the hills of the bay area, where we're also watching the chance for some fire danger this morning for our sunday funday. still very hot. there are lots of events going on. after those, we're going to count dow

we're going to turn now to cinthia pimentel and a quick look at our microclimate forecast. show yesterday was canceled in san francisco. lots of fog. that was rolling through. and a similar situation this morning, even some slick roadways. so all of that condensation out there. something to watch as we go on and get ready for the biggest air show today. now i have better news. i see more clearing in the models right now at the latest run. we will still watch for the marine layer this morning as we take it to about 1011, and then start getting into some clearing right around noon and into the 3:00 hour. when they do perform some of those bigger stunts, we see partly cloudy skies. i'm going to keep it towards the part of the ocean beach side of the city, right around the golden gate bridge and the embarcadero. i do see better clearing so some good news there. hopefully that holds as we go on into the afternoon. other places around the bay. let's get a check down here in san jose we are starting off a little bit more mild. we'll dip down those temperatures right around sunrise

i'm kira klapper cinthia pimentel has a quick look at our microclimate forecast, and you just told me this is the seventh day of this heat wave. i mean, i can believe it, but i also can't. day seven of those warnings that just continuously got extended as the week went on. and as we round out the weekend, getting our day started, there are upper 60s and 70s on the board. even some 80s up in atlas peak, napa county, but a bit cooler out there towards the coast. some readings in santa cruz coming down into the low 60s. here it is once again. our excessive heat warning extended until 11 tonight. i sure hope this is the last of it. we're going to see areas in pink going into the upper 90s 100 seconds. so that includes places like down here in san jose. as we get our day started, i would take advantage of the better part of the morning. even already going into the 80s by 10 a.m. after that, it will just be scorching out there. we'll take a look at the rest of the bay area and when relief is on the way, coming up in a few minutes. kyra. all right. cynthia. thanks. you can track the heat and

let's get over to cinthia pimentel for a look at the current temperatures. cynthia, i see a lot of 80s behind you. a lot of 80s. and that's the story for a big part of the bay area. if you live out towards tracy, though still in the mid 90s, i'll tell you why. some numbers are a little different. pay attention to our coastline. the presence of a very shallow marine layer dropped those temperatures and made it feel just a touch cooler. right now. some readings coming in at 58 in santa cruz, 69 half moon bay, and to some mid 50s in point reyes. so if you're along the coast, you definitely felt a little bit of relief as the day went on. we beat some records though for today. let me show you. san rafael came in at 106. the last time. it was very warm back in 2014. in the 90s, oakland museum at 97 and 99, in redwood city. and we're going to continue with this relentless heat as we plan our sunday in the bay area. some of those plans might have to be moved to the earlier part of the morning or later on at night, as that dangerous heat continues with the heat warni

cinthia pimentel has a quick look at our microclimate forecast. hey, cynthia. good morning kira.final sunday of october. and it's nice to see the low clouds and the fog making a return. we're seeing this picture from san francisco, khoi the transamerica pyramid looks beautiful. just shining the light right there through that cloud cover. it is much more foggy, though, across the golden gate bridge, so just be careful with some visibility. changes out the door this morning. 50s and 60s though. what a comparison to yesterday, which was just a chilly start to our weekend with that cloud cover. it helped insulate us a little bit better actually bringing us up about ten, maybe even 15 degrees this morning. up there in santa rosa, out towards livermore, 12 degrees warmer, and we start 14 degrees warmer out in half moon bay. so you'll notice that change for today. those clouds are going to stay with us though as we go throughout the day. we have that low that cold front that has made it through the bay. those shower chances, best chance is up there to the parts of the northern state and

cinthia pimentel is here with a look at that critically dry october november in the bay area. but as we went through the day today, we got more of that onshore flow, got rid of that red flag warning yesterday, and those humidity numbers bumped up a little bit better through places along the coast. san francisco being one of them. also in oakland, where that sea breeze also just brought down those numbers temperature wise, a little bit. san jose and the south bay still critically dry, but the wind and the marine layer should start to make it on through as we go on into our monday morning. might also bring about a little bit of that drizzle near the coast. there are still some warm days ahead as we look towards the full microclimate forecast. in a few minutes and we'll walk through some very warm, dry critical conditions with that high fire danger. as we build up those temperatures through wednesday at least, and then cool things down, maybe get in a spotty rain chance as we go towards the end of the week. but i don't think it will be enough to get us out of that heightened conc
