we're going to turn now to cinthia pimentel with a look at our microclimate forecast.e rain overnight. i know how exciting to get into a new month and welcome that rain. we are starting to clear out, but those roads are slick and as it is some of the first rain of the season, just be careful with your early commute. wherever you're heading on this early saturday morning, we are looking at satellite and radar, not only showing us the rain overnight, but also some pockets of snow up into the sierra and some lightning through the central valley. if i zoom it in a little bit closer, give you a bit of a street view. here we are seeing some of those showers just east of milpitas along the east foothills. as you start to climb 130 there, and parts of 101 further down into san jose. overall, we should start to clear that activity here in the bay area, but still remain on watch if you are headed to the sierra later on this morning. the winter weather advisory there through 11 a.m. we see some light snowfall, about two to maybe four inches locally, up to eight inches in the high

we're going to turn now to cinthia pimentel, who has a quick look at our very chilly microclimate forecastbut the beautiful sunrise check out palo alto that looks beautiful. low 40s there through san jose as well. we get cooler though, as we move into parts of the east bay and the north bay in the upper 30s. a few more clouds though, rolling around in san francisco. we start in the upper 40s there on this final day of the weekend. as we plan our day, you will notice that aside from the beautiful sunrise this morning in some spots, we're going to get more of that cloud cover coming in in places like san jose, where our temperatures pretty similar to what we had yesterday. although the breeze is going to pick up as we track our next rainmaker. right now, most of that activity is to the north of us. of course, the pacific northwest always hogging the rain, but it will come our way to later on into the evening. the models are pushing that rain back, but we will feel the breeze and the clouds as well. lots to talk about in my full forecast at 7 a.m. aside from the forecast for today, we have mo

but as we get deeper into the rainy season today in the bay, cinthia pimentel is reminding everyone of the threats. flooding can have hundreds of people die every year in floods. many of those deaths happen in cars, but this is preventable. let's take a look at this suv. and you can see that just six inches of rain could make you lose control of your car. we're going to bump that rain up to a foot, foot and a half, two feet. and the car can actually be swept away. now, if you live in areas that have flooded before, park in higher ground. if you can, and be especially careful when it's dark and harder to recognize these dangers. you've probably heard the rhyme turn around, don't drown. it's a good reminder this rainy season to avoid driving over flooded area. you never know how deep it really is. for a look at what we can expect on the second storm day, i'll hand it over to kari for more details. yes, cynthia, those are some good tips and great information for anyone out and about in all of this heavy rain. take a look at how much we've already measured in parts of the north bay in sant
