joining me is main street asset management cio erin glibs and the fitzgerald group principal keith fitz-gerald. keith, i want to refer back to that live report we just got from max gorden. you talk about how thoroughly disgusted you are by big names -- state farm, allstate in particular -- canceling policies on homeowners over several years. you say there's an extreme dividend risk to this group. keith, what are you watching? >>s. it's going to be anybody that's involved in the property casualty business because situations like in this are going to the roil cash flows, roil revenues. many of these companies are going to try to avoid or skirt the obvious but i think there's going to be federal backlash, i think there's going to be state backlash. if i could short the whole lot of them, i would. cheryl: yeah. well, again, state-regulated companies -- we're going to get into this story, of course, later on in the show. erin, i was just talking about those yields. your focus is on the u.s. dollar compounded by these higher yields. what do you make of the 10-year pushing that 5% mark? many is have

a lot of other cio's we talked to expect earnings growth across the board. >> earnings growth is supposedll with tech. so i actually think we're more in this period where large cap likely continues to outperform the other 493 as a whole. now the other challenge you have with those higher yields is that one good thing for tech is they have a lot of cash in their balance so they get a lot of good interest on those cash holdings. if you look at cap holdings and other areas more sensitive -- also the higher yield is also keeping the u.s. dollar strong. i also suggest the u.s. continues to outperform international because the u.s. dollar continues to be a key driver of that performance as well. >> you don't worry about just concentration risk? the fact that it makes up so much of the s & p right now, that everyone is on one side of the boat? you don't worry about these things? >> i worry about a lot of things. i'm paid to worry. one of the main risks as you mentioned is we have the highest concentration of s & p is the highest we've seen since at least the 1980s. if one company falters you cou

we have shannon, the cio at and be private wealth and a cnbc contributor.y excited with your comments. get good macro themes like government spending and deregulation and industrial policy. you think the s&p 500 could struggle a little bit? >>> it is great to be here this morning. we have the potential for a death at the j curve through the back half of the year. from a policy perspective, you think what will happen first, we get this overhang of executive actions and the issue of tariffs, with china or mexico and canada as a relates to the u.s. mca. as far as the tailwind, it has a loosening of regulation. that will manifest in the back half of the year. that's why you see in the markets struggling in 2025. we know the near term overhead, questions of the speaker shots, this is front end loaded. this is more of a short-term timeframe. in the second half of the air, we think the stronger tailwinds will push us for the positive markets that we anticipate could carry us into the second half of the year. >> you say the industrials have been weaker. do you like

joining us right now is the ceo and cio at defiance ets.en the numbers we will be given later this week and we start the earnings parade of sorts, how do you position yourself? >> good morning, andrew. well, i think that, you know, we're into a new year now, you're going to have the new presidency coming in and i think there's a lot of tailwinds going into this year and a lot of that could show up in stocks in the first quarter. you have strong jobs so far, you have a resilient consumer that continues to spend, corporate earnings have been good, will probably continue to be good. we are in a year whether or not the fed cuts as much as we might want them to, there will be some fed cuts. when you have fed cuts you usually have stock rallies provided there is no recession. i think that the overall story for this year is positive. >> if we had this conversation shall we say a year from now do you have an expectation that the market is meaningfully higher than it is right now? >> i do. you know, i expect the market to be up in the range of, you
