as noted in the previous slide, the project cip includes a $300 increase in the budget. however today, we are seeking to amend the cmc contract by 470 million. and that's because we previously reserved budget for other construction items that are no longer needed. they were savinging specifically 07 million that we're able to relocate or redirect to this construction contract. and these are items such as, you know, we had a property lease for stating the area that we no longer need so we broke the lease. and we also had a con tinge ept see in the event that the private approach did not become proficient and on a note that is going well. once again it allowed me to redirect funds i had reserved for that to now this construction ahead of us. and here's a break down of the 407 million that we are seeking today. as you can see in the table, the amendment 6 that middle column that increases all due to the cost of construction work which is located through the procurement. and all the requirement and fees that are proportionate to that construction costs. i want to also note t

i want to point your attention to the $340 million in revenue from prop b funds in the cip. this is about 80 to 85% of the prop b funds across the five year period. i just want to note that prop b only requires 25% of its revenues to go to capital funding. that means there's well over $100 million in the five year plan. so actually probably over 250 million. that is flexible. it could be capital or operations. and that to me indicates that the operational deficit is a choice that we've made. it's not a destiny that we have. and of course, this implies trade offs. we're already in a budget crisis. the agency desperately needs capital funding dollars, particularly discretionary dollars. we've already heard that today. programs we all value modern facilities, state of good repair, safer streets. all of them require and need that money . but i would propose that such trade offs need to be made in the open before we raise fares 20% for the 70% of riders that use clipper, it would be a relatively small change to move the 12.7 million from the prop b revenue back into the operation
