it's about residents of our city. i also want to -- in terms of the tax argument, and we had a long discussion about this last week and given that it's being raised again, i want to reiterate what i said last week. we know that with or without this legislation, this legislation proceeds without this amendment. our treasurer tax collector had the authority a year ago, six months ago, today, tomorrow, up until the expiration of the statute of limitation if he chooses to go into court and to sue for collection of back taxes. we don't need to authorize him to do that. if he decides that that is the best way to proceed, he has the power to do that. and, so, what this amendment is proposing, this amendment is not about somehow authorizing the collection of back taxes. we already have the power to do that and this legislation won't change that. what this amendment about back taxes says is that unless and until that money, the back taxes he are paid, home sharing in san francisco is illegal period. and although he it's easy t

is the mayor's favorite district in the city. and so, really i know that i am a broken record around this message, but district six does have the fewest parks and the smallest parks here in san francisco and so it takes a great deal of creativity and also a ton of coordinated team effort to figure out how we can enhance, and build more open space here in our district. and there is a renaissance in our district thanks to the leadership at rec and park and trust for public lands is here and we are going to be opening a new park and renovating a new chief playground here in the tender loin and these are the open space that our residents so desperately depend on to be healthy and to rec create and to build the communities and we do in the tender loin, we do represent the poorist residents of san francisco, but what we often don't realize is that even if you don't have a computer at home, or if the infrastructure is so hold that you don't have the capacity to bring in the internet or to plug in the multiple electrical appliances in yo

cities. unfortunately for cities like detroit and dayton, there's a lot in there that doesn't translate real well. nonetheless, it is one of the first tools we have and we need to see more of those types of tools. i remember i served in the state legislature from 2003 through 2008. we had, you know, in-state tuition issues, we had dreamers act issues, we had driver's license issues. i passed some legislation cracking down on notarios and immigration fraud. we didn't at that point have a single statewide advocacy voice to talk with the immigrant community and while there was some great work that happened nationally, very little that focused on the states and the kind of issues we were dealing with. so, there's all kinds of new infrastructure. the immigration policy institute has done policy research as has the policy center to help. the pew center and the work that adam is doing we're hoping will fill the void and we're seeing a little more funders look at these kinds of issues but, frankly, t

city clerk: item 3. progress of the city departments in the plastic bottle water requirements. >>president david chiu: earlier in february we passed our san francisco bottled water ordinance making our city the first if the country to phase out the sale and distribution of plastic bottled water on city properties. it applies to large scale events and vendors as well as the city departments themselves. starting this month, sites having water bottles are prohibited from the sale of bottled water and in conjunction of what's being asked of others requiring the public safety to bring water hook up where appropriate where there is a heavily used park or plaza. in the absence of any capital projects are ordinance asking to investigate solutions to allow events to hook up to our water infrastructure. the ordinance requires city departments to report back to the board of supervisors within six months 6 months which is now on the following, the properties and facilities shall within the puc on properties that have events for drinking water. the puc in consultation with dph and other app
