we can't even afford to stay in this city let alone working as a city of san francisco. they weren't talking about people like me to benefit from this hiring. if you drag this down, you have some big big challenges. but let's not go into that. let's talk about how we can change that around. i have a solution to all of this pollution. let's look at local hiring again. i need to take out some of these people like city build, oewb, these got together because they came and filed a lawsuit. there is plenty of jobs in the western edition. we are surrounding by buildings. it's too late now, most of them are built. we still got them but there was nobody monitoring. i have to go there. i don't get paid. what they tell me, go see city build. i go there and find out city build is revamping their leadership. i found out ms. simmons and autumn of those people, they are gone. we need to bring it back to the community. you have all of these agencies. the only thing missing is the community. we'll talk about that later. >> thank you, do you have a speaker card? that's okay. state your n

as you're all away the city provides a vast array of services in a number of city departments through a broad network of organizations in the city or non-profit organizations. this slide is showing you that allocation by the city department that holds the contract. the total spend in 13-14 through non-profit service providers on services totaled approximately $675 million so we're talking about a very large base providing as you can see here services through a number of city departments. over 70% of the services though are really provided in our human and health service departments and public health makes up half of the non-profit contracts in the city and hsa and dcyf and the first 5 commission accounting for a 12% of different children and youth services. of course those contracts are supported by a vast array of different colors of money given the way the budget works but again the majority of spending is occurring in health and hsa and they're general fund funded departments most of the spending occurs out of the general fund itself at about 50% of the total or out of the hospital

the mayor of my city i grew up in. i just came from celebrating my mothers 90th birtday in seattle and it is wonderful to see their parks. growing as all these cities grow. this is a great time to have this conference in san francisco. i'm proud to host it here and proud of the reck and park and commission and parks alliance and trust for public lands and all our private partners working together with us to not only expand, to maintain, to reutilize and refresh open spaces in our city. just this weekend as you were here opening we had sunday streets over in the bay view and it is exciting to always find out how people are celebrating those sunday streets. i know the other cities do that as well and it isn't just enough for us as a city to have the parks that we do have. we have to kick over streets once in a while and make sure those streets exhibit the kind of friendliness for at least a sunday to imagine and have our kids and families imagine how it is to play in open spaces without the challenges of the congested tr
