budget, the city just enacted a two-year budget and it seems the city is always dealing with complicatedues including whether or not to raise taxes and fees. how will you approach these tough choices? >> i think that when we talk about raising fees or taxes, we always have to come at it from a very balanced approach. we have a lot of homeownerses, we have a lot of tenants in the city. and, so, again balance is really key. i think we also have to approach the budget and some tough fiscal issues looking at the city-wide budget as a whole and not just looking at specific sectors or issue areas that we real have i to look at the city's financial standing as a whole for the long term. that's really important and that's definitely what drives a lot of my decision-making process. and i think it's also tougher in san francisco because we really are held to a very high standard where we have to balance the budget every single fiscal year. we cannot run into a deficit in the new fiscal year. we cannot print more money. we are held to a high standard by our charter and, so, i think that's why these

the city only has 30 field inspectors. she says if a restaurant has to close because of violations, they have to undergo training and make visible improvements. >> we are trying to break that cycle with them. >> you may be trying but it doesn't seem to be working. >> we have to go through the process and build the case. this may be close again. i don't know. >> our investigation led to us an even bigger discovery. a little known loophole that allows restaurants across san francisco to wipe clean some of their dirtiest secrets. on the city's website, consumers can look up a restaurant's inspection history. we discovered those records can essentially be removed so you can't see them online. take all season restaurant. while that's long been the name on the sign the restaurant changed its name on city documents. and over the year the ownership also changed and by law, the city says the change in ownership prirs the old inspection websites be removed from the website. in 2014 the restaurant listed brand new owners but they sti

cyf brings together city government, schools, community based agencies to help our cities, children youth birth to age 24 and their families lead lives full of opportunity and happiness. back in 1991 the people of san francisco made a unique and historic commitment to ensure that children and families have funding that's available to them on a regular basis. they passed the children's amendment and back in november of 2014, that commitment was renewed through the children and family first initiative and that was passed by nearly 75 percent of our voters in the city. the revamped children and family first initiative included several upgrades. it included increase of the fund, it extended the eligible age for services up to age 24 and that includes services for our disconnected transitional he youth. it created a 5 year planning cycle, it established an oversite and advisory committee, created a service provider working group, and most importantly, it extended the children and youth fund for 25 years. once again i just want to thank the members of the board, the mayor's office and other com
