so just really quickly, as you know, the city services auditor was established by city charter. as you know we have pendic f which lays out certain functions for city services to complete. we receive a budget set aside of 2/10 of 1% for the city's budget. we also receive g.o. bond proceeds amounting to approximately 2 million, and we have a total of 68 f.t.e.'s in the total organization. so this slide shows the large department that covers our general bond. functionally, c.s.a. has two units. so we have audit, and we have city performance to ensure that we fulfill the charter mandate for appendix f. as it relates to our work plan process, it's actually driven by your charter and administrative code. we also do risk analysis, and we receive information or requests from our executive leadership as well as our department, and we have our bond and capital programs, as well, that dictate our work plan. >> tanya ran through that really quickly. you're familiar with our planning process and mandates, but ask us questions at any time. these lists our charter requirement, which you are f

the city plans to build bicycle lanes on the major arteries between the city center and the residential areas. this marks a major opportunity for the social start up. our next initiative will be focused specifically on low income households low to middle income households and people that spend much of their disposable income on transport and then we will introduce a low low range electric bike which will be more affordable because electric bikes are still quite an expensive luxury item and to provide this is now tentative to the text of. the vision is that high sales will allow the company to lower the bike price from about six hundred euros to three hundred fifty some cycles also wants to convert more shipping containers into solar charging stations where commuters can exchange their flat batteries the team are hoping that a crowd funding campaign will bring in the necessary capital to get the project off the ground while it may take some convincing to make commuters switch from car to bike the ranges of the conservancy have already been well and truly one over. if you live in the coun

i serve as a city's director of public works. and the chairman of the transbay joint powers authority board of directors. on behalf of our board, i want to welcome you to the salesforce transit centre and the salesforce park. i will also be introducing you today to our masters of ceremony. the former mayor, willie brown, in a few moments to begin the program. before that, i want to start by personally thanking all of you for coming. you have been waiting for this day for a long time. you all received a commemorative pin and that is our official opening date. august 11th, 2018. that is eight years to the date of the actual groundbreaking for the center. four years ago, i had the honor of being appointed to the tjpa board by mayor ed lee. i have watched this project, weather at challenging times and come together and exceed our expectations. the salesforce transit centre is the true regional partnership designed to help bay area commuters get to and from their destinations. it also will become a destination all over town with beaut

an additional county and city.we are confronted by conversations about height and character and neighborhood preservation along with this issue of density, so there is a general question about what is the proper number for san francisco and at the rate and what is the proper rate of growth and balancing that history? but i will say, you know, given the history of the city, when we started out as a city of 10,000 by 1848, and then by 1849, we were pushing 60,000. the rate of change in the gold rush was very different than it was today, but it's very similar. i think the commissioners do a good job in keeping that in mind and balancing it out. i appreciate the comments and questions and thoughtful comments. and all the public that have come out to comment on questions one and two shows the level of support and the importance of this commission and the importance the role these commissioners play. so any additional comments from commissioners on these items -- i mean, excuse me from supervisors, colleagues? sorry. com

but we as a city have not given up on them. we as a state have not given up on them and only by working together and solving this problem together can we really move this issue forward. cal trans has been great because cal trans told me they spent, i believe, almost $10 million last year or the year before to just move homeless people off their property. homeless encampments up and down the state were under freeways. everywhere. i would drive under the 101 and the chavez interchange and drop off my daughter at school every day and you would see a line of tents. so, cal trans said, hey, instead of us using all this money to move people off, figure out another way to be part of the solution. it doesn't help when you move people off the lot and they come back three days later and we have to move them off. it doesn't get them any closer to housing. by cal trans, myself and the legislature, appropriating $10 million for two navigation centers, working together with mayor breed, with mayor lee, with supervisor ronen and the city fami

we made it clear, new york city, i said it over and over again, new york city was a tale of two citiesvel of inequality was unacceptable and it had to end. that led to a strong victory in the democratic primary and even stronger victory in the general election. so now what were those poor pundits to do? they said a progressive couldn't win and they had a progressive mayor. the next thing, lie number two, is to say a-ha, a progressive is in office and surely they will fail. they can't govern. it will all come crashing down on them. well, i knew that was wrong but i also knew and all progressives need to understand this lesson, that once we get into power, we have to move really fast. we have to move fast. we have to make a difference. the voices of opposition, the powerful forces of opposition, they will gather quickly. we got a great lesson almost 100 years ago from f.d.r. and the first hundred days. make change quickly. make sure people can feel it. if they feel progressive change, they will want a whole lot more. so in the first six months, we created universal pre-k for the children
