what we did is we used presentation to basically say by the fact that they, city hall supported investing in the investment staff over the last five years had we made median returns of public pension plans we saved the city over $275 million in contributions. they know those numbers in front of them. with them investing and supporting us because they did. the mayor's office had to improve the increase in staff and sign off on the pay structure that we are able to now recruit folks to these investment positions. i want to put in front of them that had they not done that and had we made median results, they would have had to pay over the last five years an additional $275 million in employer contributions. we hope they will give us credit that we saved them that money and the investment they made in increasing the resources has paid off more than 100 fold. >> okay. there was a motion on the floor. >> i will second it. i want to make a comment. we talked about this is the change not so much -- it is a change in the way we do our business, and with your plan for the next year. it is something

these meetings were created so less litigation would be brought against city hall and the city of san francisco. these meetings are terrific. they're run by people with disabilities, so people listen usually. they're a very good thing and should happen. i am concerned these meetings are not well attended. i don't think that's the fault of staff. outreach needs to be done. i lived in san francisco for 10 years with major disabilities before i knew the existence of these meetings. i'm very active in civic life. i consider myself active. i think there can be outreach done, especially at hospitals. i think it would not be hard to go to sf general and give a piece of paper, hey, did you know about these meetings? are you having problems accessing city services? i would like this point out that disability homelessness is on the rise in the city. as of yesterday, the homeless count in the city is over 8,000, 8100 people according to san francisco chronicle. if you're living on disability, you can only make a maximum of $900 a month. there is no place in san francisco that would rent to a dis

i hope you are enjoying your life outside of city hall.tant this project is to you, and i'm so glad you're able to be here with us today. good morning, everyone. i serve as your public works director, and just like everyone else, i'm very happy to be here today, even with the wet weather , seeing how many people are out here shows as how important this project is to so many people and of course, the animals. today is an exciting day for our city, and an exciting day for san francisco animal care and control. we are celebrating the start of unique project, and it brings me great pleasure and joy that public works will be overseeing the design and construction of the project. it is not every day in san francisco that a modern structure more then a century ago. that is what is happening right here. the new animal care and control facility. the new shelter will be built with the original brick warehouse behind me, the building was constructed in 1893 and served as the original market street railway corporation. it is eligible for listings on t

it is an incredibly rich, rich history.
