about the initiative itself i want to acknowledge the efforts that we have here in the city and county of san francisco not only are supported by multiple departments in the city and county including the department of public health, the san francisco police department. we have violence prevention strategies also through dc ys and throughout the city departments and we have many community based organizations such as young community developers and. [speaking spanish] and workday in and day out with us to make sure that we have interventions that are community based and culturally comtent and i want to acknowledge that and it wouldn't be where it is without the organizations and collaborations in the city that there are so with they will give a high level introduction around ipo. it was launched in july 2012. this is an initiate lead by mayor lee. he announced the ipo initiative which stands for interrupt, predict and organize and for a safer san francisco and has three core strategies and the strategies just as the tag line states is interrupt, predict and organize. the interruption piece refers to a enf

land use zoning and building regulations in the san francisco planning code that doesn't impose an undue burden on the city of san francisco or constitute a fundamental alteration to the zoning and planning program. these modifications include changes to residential property. the modification must serve the disability and be necessary to provide the equal opportunity to live in that neighborhood . current ly requests are addressed by the zoning administrator on a case by case basis. applicants are not offered a clear process which can lead to delays in approval. in developing this program department staff researched policy of other municipalities and reviewed department records to understand the types of reasonable modifications that are generally requested. the most common modifications included the addition of access ramps and changes to parking and the addition of elevators and additional habitable space. the department created an administrative path for these requests. additionally these accommodations are important for people to access their homes and do not propose a hardship as regulated by the plan

both local 21 and seiu have been in difficult discussions with the city and county of san francisco and ocii. the good news is that in november proposition d passed. and that granted former redevelopment employees city benefits and the majority of voters in san francisco supported that, so this is kind of representing a turning point in union management and relations, and it's given clarification to all of the uncertainty created by the state when they eliminated redevelopment so we're working with the city and county on a transition of employment for our members who want to continue to work on redevelopment projects but as employees of the city and not ocii employees. however, under prop d that transition must take place before march 1 and that means we need to have settlements with ocii and with the city and county of san francisco as soon as possible, the real deadlines here that are critical so the union anticipates u.s. commissioners do not want to be responsible for torpedoing the settlements and with ocii. right now some of the proposals on the table and made two years ago almost

we join the city in celebrating the return of the warrior franicize to the city and county of san francisco. in addition to bringing this sports nz franchise to san francisco will it bring dining and entertainment options in an area of the city that it doesn't exist. as many of you know we are working with the warriors and the city to address issues concerning traffic and security and access to the hospitals and research campus. we have maintained a presence at mission bay since 999 when we broke ground on the ucsf campus. for the last decade mission bay is a vibrant campus and technology hush. today we have a daily population of 4,000 faculty and staff and patients and visitors. on february 1, 2015 mission bay will be the home to san francisco's new hospital in 30 years in mission bay. this complex, the new medical center will consist of three state of the art hospitals, the children's hospital,. the cancer baker hospital and the irene moore womens' hospital. we anticipate the number of staff at mission bay to be approximately 3,000 employees as well as approximately 5,000 physicians. the
