i am a citybuild graduate. by me attending citybuild, it was a great experience for myself. good career of print and sipped -- princess ships programs. after completing the programs, i was placed at laguna honda in november 2008, my first job. i am honored to be a successful citybuild graduate, as well as a san francisco resident. i really want to thank former mayor gavin newsom for putting together these city-funded programs for people like myself to the tent and successfully complete, and also be living proof that when you complete these types of programs, and when they are in the fact, you can get a job, you can work, and you can be a part of san francisco's redevelopment. i have been at san francisco handicap -- san francisco hospital. we had been doing handicapped ramps there. i am proud to also be a member of local 261. when i am out of work, it is only a short amount of time. in make sure they get me back up and running, as i need to be. i have four daughters that i am raising. being a single mother with four girls, having the ability to get successful employment is j

this is through our citybuild program where we help individuals gain the skills needed to work in construction jobs. we have a number of big projects that are really generating the job growth and place for people to be working. so i think that in terms of the pace and number of projects that we have, in terms of identifying some key sectors to attract, in terms of providing rebates for films to come and fill in san francisco and generate additional moneys -- that is something that is a movement in the right direction. we need to work on how we do a job training in san francisco. there are many different departments and many different players, and how it is where we train our work force, whether it is youth as a community, people preparing to train for different jobs -- we have a lot of folks involved, and we did not yet have a centralized way of doing it and making sure we are targeting the right sectors. so i think we have got some work to do in that area. >> talk about the role of sports in the city's economic future. are you happy with plans for the america's cup? do you think the city shou

there have been a real underutilization of workforce development strategies city- wide, citybuild, academies. if you could say bit about that. >> hello, everyone. i am from poder. i am also part of smac, students making a change. that is also in district 11. at poder, we're working with immigrant families. many times, these communities are left out of the conversation, conversations that includes affordable housing and jobs. as many of you know, driving in the state of california, you need a driver's license. in order to bget a driver's license, you have to prove that you are a legal resident of california. we are left out. we depend on cars and vehicles to make a living. it would greatly benefit our community, the immigrant community, if the city of san francisco extended that great theory that when you are stopped by a police you can call someone with a driver's license to pick up your car and take it to your destination. it would benefit us if they extend and that time period from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. sometimes that is not enough time to get to where we are at. i know times are tough
