so -- but i do believe that when we start to surrender some of these basic rights, citywide, that, you know, what's next. you know, a lot of people think that that's clichÉ butkk%( 1aÑ k tattooing or yellow hair, or what. so i just -- i think it's unfortunate. too, i agree with most of the -- i think everything that supervisor campos said, and that is especially it's unfortunate that some agency, whether it's the human rights commission, or some civic leaders, couldn't just bring people together to discuss how to mitigate this issue, and the way it's castro. it's a very different scene from when i moved to the castro in 1982. so this whole again idea of expression and civil liberties and these sorts of issues i think can't be understated at all. and then finally, i think that supervisor campos again mentioned -- i mean just unfortunate that issues like nudity takes such a big level -- it takes a great deal of attention when you have all these issues around gang violence, that are happening, bullying, achievement gaps in high schools, cost of housing, unemployment, you have all these ot

it is a long-range, citywide planning effort, looking from now until 2040, just under 30 years, at all of the transportation funding. and try to prioritize between different needs that we have. and balance those needs and prioritize funding accordingly. we are also looking at different things that we can do is additionally and with policy to try to meet more of those needs. with the system we have now. and the investments that we can make moving forward. we will also develop two different plan scenarios. one is a fiscally constrained scenario, looking specifically at the funding that we will have over that plan period and what we can do without. also looking at a vision scenario. what if we had additional resources? what could we do with those resources? those are some of the major objectives of the plan. here is just a quick overview graphic but i will explain that looks at the big picture for our funding needs. what i'm showing you visit by chart of the anticipated revenues in 2040. adds up to 64 billion dollars, sound like a lot except that about 52 of that is needed to maintain the

some of the big citywide issues that impact the district include transportation. we had more muni service and some other districts. it is not always reliable. some of the major bus lines in the district are not reliable. we have major projects like the renovation of delores park. it is an opportunity to define what the park is and what changes we want to make to it. that is going to be and port project, the same thing with glen canyon that is going to undergo a lot of work. one of the most challenging parts of the new district supervisor is that we elect the supervisors by district. it is very important to pay attention to the district, be engaged in the projects in the district. we also represent the whole city. any district supervisor that focuses on the district without addressing the citywide issues is not doing his or her job. every day, i make sure i am working on the major citywide issues and the district issues. i try to be disciplined about that. >> how will you approach the tough choices? >> i think we have to start by looking at the most critical city s

we have a specific, citywide community advisory committee working with us throughout the process. and also we have done advertisements and other mechanisms. these are some of the backgrounds. the tool is - a little fuzzy on the powerpoint, www.sfbudgettzar.com. what you can do with the tool, gives you the 64 billion that we have, you can go through and select the different levels of maintenance, levels of program support, and also the different projects that you feel should be incorporated. we will give you feedback on where you are in using your budget, and we have the revenue option. if you support the revenue to get more of the things you want, using the vision scenario, we that option. the tools available for the end of november. i want to say and i apologize we have been working to make sure this tool is fully accessible. we actually had work to make sure that is usable with a screen reader initially but we heard recently that some people are having issues using the tool. we are looking into that and seeing what we can do to make sure that everyone is able to use the tool. in

also families united, a citywide collaborative that works with families with children below the age of 18 of which there are about 1000 families year in san francisco that live in these buildings. the way that the sro collaborative first started back in the 1990s, there was a rash of serious building fires. it affected sro buildings in the communities around. back as we heard earlier, a lot of these buildings were constructed soon after the 1906 earthquake, old housing stock. a lot of deferred maintenance. a lot were built before some of the more stringent housing codes were adopted. there are a lot of challenges to these buildings that exist. they are older; they were built at a time when they were small, even the hallways are small. back to the fire. sro collaborative were established as a response to these fires. focus on organizing the tenants and trying to come up with solutions to keep fires like this from happening. one of the main things that happened that people may be familiar with is the sprinkler ordinance. in san francisco a hotel room with more than 20 rooms is required h

the tenderloin had been convening meetings fore over a year to discuss what we could do about the citywide epidemic that has been plaguing our neighborhoods. through the work group this legislation came forwards a series of recommendations on what we could do to better abate bedbugs and the bedbug abatement issue here in san francisco. this legislation will address three primary issues. the first of course is to actually collect data on bedbug abatement. so to require pest control operators to report to the department of public health on bedbug abatements and to have disclosures and create better information by the city and county of san francisco for tenants, our operators and for our property owners. so i wanted to call up two individuals who have been working very steadily on this project. mr. vining and miss chung.
