latinos 13% citywide and 5% in our bmr units. in terms of the outreach and the marketing for those units, because i think those demographics automatically lead to those questions. through the time i have been there with the department, so i started there about 2005, we have had grants to a number of strategic community-based organizations in order to increase our outreach, specifically on the homeownership side. so we have worked specifically the asian, inc., with san francisco housing development corp., san francisco's lgbt center, et cetera. specifically to try to target outreach to the api lgbt latino and african-american communities, as well as working with homeownership sf, which was a elaborative of all the different homeownership organizations, as well as consumer credit outreach. there are additional barriers to access those units. whenever anyone contact ours offices and said can you contact about bmr us about opportunities, everybody gets an email blast about an opening in the program. we approved the marketing plans of

it is a long-range, citywide planning effort, looking from now until 2040, just under 30 years, at all of the transportation funding. and try to prioritize between different needs that we have. and balance those needs and prioritize funding accordingly. we are also looking at different things that we can do is additionally and with policy to try to meet more of those needs. with the system we have now. and the investments that we can make moving forward. we will also develop two different plan scenarios. one is a fiscally constrained scenario, looking specifically at the funding that we will have over that plan period and what we can do without. also looking at a vision scenario. what if we had additional resources? what could we do with those resources? those are some of the major objectives of the plan. here is just a quick overview graphic but i will explain that looks at the big picture for our funding needs. what i'm showing you visit by chart of the anticipated revenues in 2040. adds up to 64 billion dollars, sound like a lot except that about 52 of that is needed to maintain the

also families united, a citywide collaborative that works with families with children below the age of 18 of which there are about 1000 families year in san francisco that live in these buildings. the way that the sro collaborative first started back in the 1990s, there was a rash of serious building fires. it affected sro buildings in the communities around. back as we heard earlier, a lot of these buildings were constructed soon after the 1906 earthquake, old housing stock. a lot of deferred maintenance. a lot were built before some of the more stringent housing codes were adopted. there are a lot of challenges to these buildings that exist. they are older; they were built at a time when they were small, even the hallways are small. back to the fire. sro collaborative were established as a response to these fires. focus on organizing the tenants and trying to come up with solutions to keep fires like this from happening. one of the main things that happened that people may be familiar with is the sprinkler ordinance. in san francisco a hotel room with more than 20 rooms is required h

november 19th we celebrated a dedication of the community garden -- i'm sorry, let me start with citywideme stats. crime in san francisco, violent crime in san francisco remains down about 3%. despite the fact that we're down almost 300 police officers. however, through the efforts of commission, and mayor lee and cooperation with the board of supervisors, we do have a hiring plan. we are hiring right now. i will speak a little bit about our recruiting efforts at the end of my presentation. but for anybody that is watching on sfgov and wants to apply to be a san francisco police officer, if you live and work and/or go to school in san francisco, this is your city. and you know, we are a world-recognized police department. and we would love to have you, if you interested in helping people we are that police department and we would love to have you. violent crime is down about 3%. unfortunately property crime as we focus on violent crime is up about 10%. largely a lot of that is auto burglaries, the thefts of cell phones, electronic devices and we have been doing a safe-shopper campaign as

the tenderloin had been convening meetings fore over a year to discuss what we could do about the citywide epidemic that has been plaguing our neighborhoods. through the work group this legislation came forwards a series of recommendations on what we could do to better abate bedbugs and the bedbug abatement issue here in san francisco. this legislation will address three primary issues. the first of course is to actually collect data on bedbug abatement. so to require pest control operators to report to the department of public health on bedbug abatements and to have disclosures and create better information by the city and county of san francisco for tenants, our operators and for our property owners. so i wanted to call up two individuals who have been working very steadily on this project. mr. vining and miss chung. the other thing is the merchant cameras and we have been watching the robbery trends citywide and my community policing advisory board is very proactive. they always come to the meeting with what can we do? how can we help? what can we get accomplished? last month mark murphy hosted a meeting with safe at the jewish community center and we walked through what it entails to have a security system and some of the pitfalls like putting the camera at the wrong place and you don't see anything or a lot of people have old cameras that take poor pictures and you can't identify the person in it. and because technology has become much more affordable, it's a much better -- you know, it's much easier for merchants to grasp and to be able to do that. so the sacramento street merchants' meeting went very well with morgan's help and gary miller has reached out. they want to host a meeting to work with merchants to get those cameras in place, too. >> thank you, that gives me a good picture and seems like they are tackling some big projects. i wanted to ask you about the significant limited english
