claire since -- because st. claire is the namesake of mission santa clara. the volume, as i said, is pretty heavy. it actually has leather over wooden boards that are probably half to three quarters of an inch thick and really beautiful heavy duty brass fittings on the front and the back. for being as old as it is, it has held up pretty well and i think that is largely due to it being made from high quality materials that lend to long term preservation. the paper is parchment or animal skin. you can see some of these physical features like these holes here along the edges, which would have been used to help them draw the line for the musical scores and then the lyrics to accompany the music as well. so, it is a thing of beauty as you can see. and again, just a really significant part of mission santa clara's history. so, some of the other material that helped us study and understand the mission a little bit better -- we do have a number of maps. these are not from the so-called franciscan era. these were drawn up by most likely, i think, primarily by the jes
