this cartoon the journal itself this is the cover of it it in the clark historical library at central michigan university in mount pleasant, which is a fantastic library. it's got a lot of original material and it's in the middle of the state. so you everyone would go up there and visit. and i do recommend that. but this a document or a book, an artifact that has been with the clerk for some time. and i'll try to explain how i came across it. as we go through the talk this is the interior of it and it may appear that it is a diary or a journal, but really what it is, is the author of it. 20 years after the civil war took the letters that she had written to her soldier husband and that he had written to her and she copied them into this book, this journal. and the suspicion, of course, that those letters were starting to fall apart and she wanted to preserve the story. how do we know that this is authentic? we don't have the original copies anymore. they did obviously get destroyed or they just fell into pieces and were thrown away. but when you read the journal, you find out that ther
