in the case of clark fish, i came across him in a very, very unique way.king past his cell and i saw how his socks had been folded and his socks had been rolled up in a ball with these little smiles. and as a veteran, i knew that's exactly how you folded -- were trained to fold your socks in the military. and so i said, were you in the service? and he goes, yeah, i was in the army. >> i joined the army straight out of high school. it was a conviction of mine because we as a family, a lot of males in the family, have been part of the service. and so i felt it was my obligation, and i was a health care specialist. i had no idea what it meant to be a health care specialist. all i knew is i wanted to do something medical. and i want to work in a hospital with doctors so they told me i'd be doing that. the reality was, i was not a health care specialist but a pretty name for combat medic. >> one of the challenges is always getting the inmates to share some very intimate details of their lives, and sometimes their crimes. i think in clark's case, the fact that i
