this is extremely heavy out towards boyds and clarksburg and even towards poolesville. that's a little heavy band. we've had reports of lightning and thunder. a couple of independent reports around the bethesda area. also just got a call from someone out in charles town out in west virginia. and he said he has a gas powered snow blower and he was able to move the snow but just barely. it's almost like two or three feet of snow. so he said what we've been saying in your teens or maybe 20s, you don't have a gas-powered equipment to move it. he says he recommends not moving it and i agree. even a little bit of snow moves tons if you're moving two inches over average size of driveway. we'll go down to the south and we're seeing very heavy bands down in here and almost to fredericksburg. we're also seeing the rain. and it's going to get into -- we talked about this -- into southern st. mary's county. that's why your snowfall totals are less than ours, and that's why we did that. you'll go back to snow tomorrow. you'll end in snow tomorrow. don't worry about that. you'll get

clarksburg three inches. -- going. this is sort of what we call presnow, bonus snow before the main act develops tonight. it is still a dangerous super storm. we are not trying to scare you but to tell you it is a serious snowstorm. conditions are as bad as they will get during wenter in the mid-atlantic. another two inch evers before it is said and done. and then we get going. 6:00 p.m. to midnight, six to 12 inches. probably hear thunder and see lightning and that's common with a storm of this magnitude and a storm that is this intense. and then midnight to 6:00 a.m., an additional six to eight inches. remember, 12 to 20 inches. only average downtown 18 inches for the entire season. it will wind down on saturday, two to four inches in the morning. probably one to two in the afternoon. but again near blizzard conditions tonight. and that is something we are really trying to hammer home. look at the satellite picture radar combined. look at this moisture. when you get storms out of the gulf of mexico and go to the atla

some of the highest toward clarksburg 6 inches. edgewood 5 inches of snow. columbia at 4.3. we did see baltimore city reported 4 inches in pikesville and baltimore county at 3 inches of snow. 4.9 the official total. westminster, beltsville and craw all downward from 3 inches. we are now looking at this melting down and moving on out. we're now setting our sites on what is coming in our direction. for a little more on what's happening, we send it outside to bernadette woods. we talked about the 4.9 at bwi, putting us almost smack in the record books again. >> with that added to our season total, we are now 13th place for snowiest snowfall season. we're creeping up that list right now, and this weekend could add to that. i want to show you down to the southwest, the next storm's already taking shape, bringing a lot of rain to texas. that storm will track across the south and then move in our direction. for us, we think it could be a sleet/snow combo in the beginning and southern parts of the region, more of a rain mix. so we could see a little bit of everything at the beginnin
