this happened at 2:30 this morning in clarksburg. it spread really fast. the family of 4 lives in this home. they moved in 2 weeks ago. the father was of stirrers, heard a noise, so it was a fire, got his family outside safely before the fire really started spreading fast. both homes next-door have damage from the serious heat and the fire that was being spread by the wind. 20firefighters spent 15 to minutes knocking out this fire entirely. a police officer was the scene and knocked on doors to wake up neighbors. >> there was a police officer knocking at the door at 2:30 in the morning, saying your neighbor's house is on fire, you need to get out. disbelief. >> it could have been worse. you accept it and move on. that's all you can do. and it really is a terrible sight when you look at the home, and the fire damage caused by it. it is a total loss. we are told the family was by here today. they took a look, they are obviously devastated, but they are doing ok. we are told they are staying in a hotel at the moment, they do have family in the area. neighbors
