and as you may know, in march of 1955 a 15-year-old by the name of claudette colvin refuses to give up her seat on the bus. maybe this will be the case, the community begins to galvanize. the judge throws out the segregation charge in claudette colvin's case, and second, the community doesn't fully stand behind colvin. they see her as two too young, too feisty. so when i say it's not planned, rosa parks is not a freedom rider, she doesn't get on the bus to make a stand, but it also is not spontaneous, it doesn't come out of nowhere. rosa parentings had made -- parks had made stands on the bus before december 1, 1955. one of the things that galled her was many bus drivers would make black people pay in the front and get off the bus and reboard in the back. she refused to do that. and she'd been thrown off the bus by both this bus driver, cho will have her arrested, and other bus drivers who considered her uppity for not being willing to do that. so this is not her first act of bus -- [inaudible] but on december 1, 1955, she's coming home from work about 6:00 at night. she actually let t

claudette put down 45 inches in texas. allison put down 37 inches in houston. here we go for this storm, 24 inches. so, not a new record-breaker for anywhere in the world, but certainly a big record-maker here for anyone who has ever lived in south carolina since it has been a state. obviously, something may have happened in the year 4. we don't know about that. that's certainly a possibility. 21 inches in atlanta with their historic flood. 20 in nashville with that historic flood. yes, nick said it's still raining. i don't believe we're going to get a lot of rain here in south carolina. it's moved up to north carolina. but the water is just still running off. guys? >> the rain ends and the danger, it is definitely not over. chad's on it. thanks. >>> more news breaking this morning. the u.s. coast guard says it's searching for 33 people miss-a board a missing cargo ship, but the coast guard believes the ship itself has sunk. the "el faro" went missing off the coast of florida in the middle of hurricane joaquin. there's been no contact with the ship since then.
