claudine wong in for tori campbell. >> i'm dave clark. it's thursday, december 22nd. >>> well, nurses are on strike this morning against eight sutter health hospitals. they are now out there walking picket lines. ktvu'sraine blanco is live at alta bates. what will you seeing -- what are you seeing? what's happening? >> reporter: they've been loud calling out grinch. this hospital is one of eight affected by this 24-hour strike. the leader of the california nurses association say there are many issues. but the big one today is the hospital management's plan to reduce or eliminate sick pay. >> we will be taking care of our compromised patients who are already sick. we really do not want to do that. that's not what we want to do to our patients. >> reporter: the hospital has hired replacement workers and say patient care will not be afibilitied -- affected. lorraine blanco, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> the santa rosa fire did the has been hit with a heavy fine.
