ktvu's claudine wong is in our studio now with more on these questions that lawmakers have about someontract incentives. >> when it comes to the new bay bridge span, contractors were told if you get the bridge open on time, you will get more money. but now there's concern that those incentives may have impacted the quality of work being done. so according to the "sacramento bee" lawmakers from the bay area are asking the bay bridge project leaders to give the public more information about which companies were offered incentives, when the offers were made and for how much. they also want to know the reasons behind them. mark levine of san rafael says the rmwill help ensure that "commuters know that safety is the paramount concern that's driving the opening of this span." but the bridge may still not open on time because of the bolt problem. tests are underway to test those bolts. those are not broken because another shipment broke -- those are not being tested because another shipment that was shipped did. caltrans says it is going to announce its decision on when the bridge will open
