as clayton sandell reports, the pair was armed and ready for a fight. >> the nightmare that started on july 30th is finally over. >> reporter: the fugitives were spotted by a forest ranger in the mountains of eastern arizona, near the new mexico border. far from where their odyssey began on july 30th. that's when caslin welch, allegedly helped her fiancee and two murderers escape from prison. the two made it to new mexico. donnell rennwick was caught in colorado. tracy province was captured in wyoming. but mcclus can i and welch evaded capture. they were lost spotted in montana, leading toian all-out alert in yoel low stone national work. but authorities thought they would reconnect with family in arizona. when they were caught last night, they were armed. >> she attempted to go for the higher firearm. as she pulled it out, the s.w.a.t. officers had their guns trained on her. and she dropped the weapon. >> reporter: the quick-thinking ranger was suspicious of the campsite and found the license plates on their car were stolen. mccluskey and welch wsh -- a nationwide manhunt, now over. c

clayton sandell has the latest now on the search. >> reporter: this is all that's left of the burned-outxico police found the bodies of linda and gary haas. authorities say these fugitives, on the run, may be to blame. >> we consider them extremely armed and dangerous and we pray upon the public to be vigilant. >> reporter: convicted felons tracy province, john mccluskey and daniel renwick busted out of this kingman, arizona, prison july 30th. had help from an alleged accomplice, mccluskey's fiance and cousin, police say she tossed the men wire cutters so they could slice through the fence. from there they hijacked a big rig at gunpoint, driving to flagstaff. they were later seen in phoenix. gary and linda haas were found dead wednesday in new mexico. the couple's car found 100 miles away in albuquerque. in the meantime, renwick was recaptured last weekend in colorado. the others are still on the loose. >> one of the huge difficulties in being a fugitive is that you have to keep on the move because the longer you stay any place, the odds of you getting caught are actually even greater. >

clayton sandell has more. >> this morning, manhunt. >> breaking news in a massive manhunt tonight. >> and extremely dangerous. >> reporter: it's a manhunt in the most unlikely of places. >> an escaped killer is caught near yellowstone park, still on the run, a couple who think they're bonnie and clyde. >> reporter: among the waterfalls, wildlife, and summer tourists at yellowstone national park, officials here continued to search for fugitives connected to a tragic double murder. >> to put an end to this nightmare, basically a national nightmare. >> reporter: a break in the 10-day-old case, one of the men, tracy province, was captured near the park. >> at 6:20 this morning, tracy alan province was arrested by u.s. marshals. >> reporter: province had been spotted on sunday at a local church, singing along, unnoticed, with the choir. >> u.s. marshals last night set up surveillance in the area of that church where he was observed. they immediately arrested him without incident. mr. province did have a 9 millimeter handgun in his possession at the time. we still have john mccluskey and mi

clayton sandell is there with more on who is helping the men. good morning, clayton. >> reporter: good morning, juju. one of those three men is now in lockup at this colorado dale. police are still looking for tracy province and john mccluskey. they're also looking for the fiance of one of them. police say with her help two convicted murderers are on the loose. this real-life prison break began when mccluskey, province, and a third convict named daniel renwick cut through the fence of a medium security prison at kingman. next they kidnapped two big rig drivers at gunpoint demanding a ride to flagstaff. >> it is thought that they are still in the region in arizona. >> reporter: renwick split from the others and made it to colorado. he got into a shoot-out with cops who rammed his car and made the arrest. mccluskey, province and welsh were last spotted in phoenix withdrawing money from atms. >> hopefully, they'll surrender and their family will talk to them and give them that good advice. ultimately, we don't want anybody to get hurt. >> reporter:

clayton sandell is on the scene. clayton? >> reporter: good morning, george. we are learning this morning that the u.s. marshall believe the fugitives have been spotted in the yellowstone area. somewhere among yellowstone's bison, elk and summer tourists are three fugitives connected to a new double murder. >> we consider them extremely armed and dangerous. and we pray upon the public to be vigilant. >> reporter: the search for the trio is now more urgent after a husband and wife were found in new mexico burned to death inside their camping trailer. linda and gary haas were identified after a rancher found their wandering dog. the couple's names and phone numbers on their pets' i.d. tags. their truck was found 100 miles away in albuquerque. police say evidence links the case to the inmates. john mccluskey is believed to be traveling with casslyn welch, who allegedly helped them bust out of this prison. and mccluskey's mother is under arrest. u.s. marshals said she gave them money, clothing and a getaway car. >> john mccluskey, if you're out there watching, com
