after some overnight rain, clearing in the nation's capital. >>> the skies cleared out overnight. it is a gorgeous autumn morning. we have the autumn constellations, orion is visible this morning, jupiter is bright in the western sky. we do have some fog that has formed and actually getting reports of aurora borealis seen this far south. we've had the northern lights show up as there was a huge eruption in the sun yesterday afternoon that sent a bunch of these charged particles that hit our atmosphere and created an aurora overnight. it was seen as far south as central california and across much of the nation. right now low and mid-40s across much of the nation. a chilly start under this mostly clear sky. reduced visibilities in some locations down to about a quarter mile. those overnight showers quickly exited a few hours ago. temperatures will remain chilly here for another couple of hours. by 9:00, we ought to be in the low 60s. mid-60s by noon. upper 60s to near 70 during the afternoon with lots of sunshine. a terrific day coming up. a look at your tuesday evening planner. tha
