and commissioner cleaveland in the year that he's been serving, i have never met a more -- and there are a lot of good men and women who have served on this commission, but commissioner cleaveland, in terms of your ability to grasp budget, your experience within the business field, your professional demeanor, your dedication, you're very well informed, you're very well engaged. you're very well connected in terms of the city and county of san francisco both on a political level and business level, and i was very impressed what you did in terms of hitting the ground as president when it came to our challenge to find a location for station 49, and the kind of advocacy that you did beyond this table in terms of seeking out relationships and cooperation. so we all have a lot of work to do. i must say, personally with the passing of mayor lee, the last time we met with mayor lee, yourself and myself, but it seems like yesterday, and his spirit and his direction are very much within my mindset. i feel that we have a lot of business still to do. i know that that angie griggs is a concern. i

. >> good morning, press cleaveland. commissioners. this is my report since our last meeting that was held on november 8th. i wanted to start off my comments by echoing president cleaveland, your remarks regarding our mayor. very devastating news yesterday when we learned that he passed away so suddenly. it was a real honor for me to work with him and for him. we were colleagues when he was a department head, and then, he became city administrator and then mayor and really got to know him over the last many years, and i had great respect and admiration how he led. he always led with respect and dignity, and he always respected people even those who had different opinions. he was one of the lawyers in his early days when he worked for the asian law caucus, and he was really a champion for equality. and one of the things he said was if it wasn't for me, you'd never have had this opportunity, and he was right. he's one of the attorneys that sued this department to make this the diverse department that it is, and i really appreciate that.

i ended up with an hour telephone call with a cardiology specialist at the cleaveland clinic. i don't know when in my life i'm going to get an hour with a cleaveland clinic cardiologist, and that conversation was very helpful to me. when we talk about risk factors, when we talked about how do you define success, that was not a conversation i had had with my kaiser doctor, they are like giving me percentage of success rate and even my service system, we talk about how, you know, people have to advocate for themself, ask the right questions and it's so difficult. and so to commissioner sass, or commissioner follansbee, it's not cost and peace of mind. i have to tell you, i got peace of mind out of my experience and i did go through the procedure and it was costly, so if you are going gonna look for cost savings you are not going to find it on my particular claim. but what i'm hoping is i will continue to be a productive and effective member, employee of the city and county of san francisco, and health services system and that service to me meant the world. >> all right, thank yo
