for more i'm joined by msnbc contributor and editor at large, steve clemens and good to see both of youthat a u.s. ally might have been behind leaks over these iran nuclear talks, what's the latest on that? how might that change the u.s./israel relationship? >> not one, if in fact prime minister netanyahu's people did this it's a violation of deep strategic trust between israel and the united states. it's practically unbelievable to consider. i just got off the phone with a senior official who says there's no doubt in their mind that netanyahu did this and the frustration is not just that he authorized leaks, is that he authorized a political dimension to the leaks, that he only leaked aspects that would be most damaging to the u.s. position. he didn't leak the full package. and so there are different dimensions of frustration here in washington with netanyahu over this. but right now -- israel and u.s. have always said they have an unshakeable bond that ties them so clearly together. netanyahu is violated that and now you feel the relationship shaking in a way it hasn't ever shaken it

joining me on the phone is steve clemens.t the jordanian reaction was going to be. it seems we now have it. >> well jordan the anger, the frustration is palpable in amman and throughout jordan. there has been before this because there had been so much trepidation and so much desire to exchange this terrorist they had been holding in amman for this pilot, who was executed who was burned alive, that the king was in trouble. but today, the king and the leadership in amman showed resolve and strength. and i think they've turned a very unstable situation in jordan into iron resolve into responding to isis. it's remarkable turn around of the basic temperature inside that country. >> they were working on trying to pull off this exchange and all they were waiting for in jordan was proof of life. something that could show them that their pilot was indeed still alive. >> yes. there was a lot of hope among many jordanian citizens that he might still be alive. but i believe that many terror watchers feared that he did die on january 3rd.
