i've actually spoken to clermont police, the florida highway patrol and the victim herself. she took me through what happened here when she was pulled over late saturday night. what i gather, there was a huge breakdown in communication. >> it's a little bit shocking. >> reporter: a little bit shocking and a whole lot of confusion for jessica jones, the 23-year-old who was pulled over by an unmarked car with lights on, just miles from her home on saturday night. she didn't want to show her face on camera. >> the flashlight hit the left shoulder. i couldn't see anything, just a brown uniform. >> reporter: she couldn't see but jones says the traffic stop seemed legit. she didn't think anything was suspicious until he said this. >> he said, "i think i've seen you around the neighborhood. you're probably a few houses down from where i am." anybody could say that. >> reporter: the cop let her go with a verbal warning but she was crying hysterically and witnesses called clermont officers to come check it out. that's when an officer talked to jones and thought maybe the cop was fake

it went down not far from south lake hospital in clermont this morning. wesh 2' s matt grant reports, some believe the pilot' s last-minute decision saved lives. matt: a headset dangles amidst the twisted blue and yellow wreckage, all that' s left after this single-engine two-seater went down just before 9:00 a.m., killing both people on board. no one else was injured. mark wells: like an explosion, almost like a backfire but it wasn' t. matt: mark wells was outside his home at the time, the plane narrowly missing him. mark wells: i think the guy knew he was in trouble, and the field back there is the perfect place. he was trying to save everybody else, i guess. matt: the aircraft went down in an empty field behind the skytop view rehab center at south lake hospital in clermont, an area surrounded by residential homes. witnesses reported seeing fuel leaking from the wreckage, but the crash did not cause a fire. wells rushed to help, but there was nothing he could do. >> so i went ahead and approach and i saw the guy was gone. matt: right now, investigator

it happened on state road 50, not far from lake sumter state college in clermont. that's where we find kirsten this morning. officers are warning people to be on the lookout. what is the latest on this case? >> reporter: police are trying to track this guy down after they say he pulled the woman over dressed in uniform and carrying a gun. it happened near this parking lot. the man said she was heading and he pulled her over in a parking lot. she described the man to police who tell us he is a white man in his 40's and 50's. he is about 5'6", 190 pounds and has silver hair. we have an idea of the car he was driving. the victim and witnesses said the man was driving a black ford crown victoria that looked like a year 2000 model. according to the police report, that car had lights inside the windshield which made it look like an unmarked patrol car. no one was hurt but police say that woman was shaken up. a few employees said they saw this man. he was dressed in a brown uniform. hay had no idea he was not an officer. police are asking anyone who saw him or have seen t
