the cleveland clinic is stressing that this is not a new test that it's conducting.s merely eliminating the need for off site testing. previously they were relying on private companies such as quest diagnostics, lab corp. that normally would take four to seven days. the cleveland clinic says that by doing this in-house it will be able to have test results within 8 hours and the ceo tells me that that could be a game changing or battling the coronavirus. he says it will save lives by getting these answers faster, but yasmin, this raises the question, why wasn't this happening sooner. why didn't private companies and private labs weeks ago start with this? we spoke with -- nbc news spoke with a doctor at the university of north carolina saying that the red tape that they have had to face while trying to get approval to be doing these tests has really put them back, that they would like to be doing hundreds of tests a day but they haven't been able to do so. some of these labs have said that they wanted to start conducting these tests back in mid january but that the fe
