charles clifford explains.>reporter: for the past 18 years, readers have chosen san francisco for their favorite destination. in this year's survey, the city has been bumped to #two. this is behind frost in south carolina. apparently even though san francisco boast amazing restaurants and tourist attractions the magazine readers things that charleston is a friendlier city. this is the president of the san francisco travel association. >> i think a lot of it has to do with our aggressive street scene that we have with the aggressive panhandlers. it is a bigger problem in san francisco especially in the areas that a lot of tourists visit. if someone leave their hotel at 8:00 p.m. and is going out to dinner and you get you know aggressively panhandled they will not feel like it is a very friendly environment. >>reporter: tourism and san francisco is big business. they say if the city will reclaim the no. 1 spot and protect one of its biggest industries it will take a team effort. >> we need to reach out to visitor
