charles clifford has details. >> on tuesday, the san jose police department revealed details of what they describe as a one man crime spree that has left 2 people dead. multiple people injured and one suspect in custody. the san jose police department says they believe ricardo padilla is responsible for a series of violent incidents spanning several months during 2021 on 5/9/2021, he's alleged to have stabbed someone along market street in san jose on may. 11th padilla is alleged to have assaulted a man outside a 7.11 and then stabbed another person on the same day along coyote creek on may 31st. padilla is alleged to have shot and killed this man. thomas keller, mia near provo street and west virginia street in san jose on june 4th, he is alleged to have tried to run over a livermore police officer. that incident resulted in padilla being charged with attempted murder on june 22nd. padilla was allegedly involved in yet another shooting incident in san jose. and then on 7/4/2021 padilla was arrested near coyote creek and has been in custody ever since in august of this year. san jose

kron four's charles clifford gives us a closer look. >> well, here on mount diablo, there is snow on the mountain side at the moment. i'm standing about halfway to the summit. we can just see thick blankets of snow across a large portions of mount diablo. overnight, the wind and the rain knocked over a lot of old oak trees that are blocking the roadway. there's also very slick conditions toward the summit. so state parks has closed the entrances, including the one at the northern end, the north gate entrance. there's a lot of folks trying to get up here on friday to check out the snow. they are being turned around at least as of midday. and i talked to one guy who says he comes up here every time it snows to hike around. >> last couple times a day coming walked in the snow. they let road open up to the brink stage. so from there you up so i sign. coming up, a whole is ready, but no. >> now i've also seen a pg e crews coming in here presumably to affix any power outages and clear trees. we've got a state park screws up here, making sure it's safe before they reopen the park, which the

kron 4 s charles clifford brings us their concerns as well as the district's response. >> well, here in alameda, the school district has decided to phase out the middle school at bay farm school and some parents are not happy about on tuesday. the alameda unified school district board voted to phase out the middle school here at bay farm school. the district says the great 6, 7, and 8 have seen declining enrollment for years. and that makes more sense to move those students to one of the other middle schools in alameda, but not everyone is happy with the decision they farm is popular with parents who have children with special needs. they feel their kids can get more attention in bay farms, smaller classroom sizes and worried that if their kids have to go to one of the larger middle schools, they may not be able to get that personalized attention. many parents are also accusing the district of rushing the closure of the middle school and say that the district is not following state guidelines that would allow the public more input on the decision at tuesday's board meeting, parents a

kron four's charles clifford joining us live now from concord with more on what prompted this meetingcharles? >> yeah, well, the school district says they've seen some problems in recent some issues with racism and they're trng to be proactive ou it by getting parents and students involved in the conversation. the mount diablo unified school district says that in recent weeks there have been several disturbing events at campuses across the district. >> including the use of racial slurs and the appearance of graffiti. in one case, a student at diablo view, middle school handed out cotton and what has been described as a joke marking black history month. the district says that student has been disciplined. the superintendent of the school district has condemned these acts, saying all of these incidents are forms of bullying. we have also had several fights in our schools between different student groups, bullying and fighting have no place in any md usd schools. in response, the district has scheduled a community meeting for 06:30pm, tuesday here at pine hollow middle school. >> they've

charles clifford has details. >> on tuesday, the san jose police department revealed details of whathey describe as a one man crime spree that has left 2 people dead. multiple people injured and one suspect in custody. the san jose police department says they believe ricardo padilla is responsible for a series of violent incidents spanning several months during 2021 on 5/9/2021, he's alleged to have stabbed someone along market street in san jose on may. 11th padilla is alleged to have assaulted a man outside a 7.11 and then stabbed another person on the same day along coyote creek on may 31st. padilla is alleged to have shot and killed this man. thomas keller, mia near provo street and west virginia street in san jose on june 4th, he is alleged to have tried to run over a livermore police officer. that incident resulted in padilla being charged with attempted murder on june 22nd. padilla was allegedly involved in yet another shooting incident in san jose. and then on 7/4/2021 padilla was arrested near coyote creek and has been in custody ever since in august of this year. san jose p
