i have two experiences from my clinton years about this. one is i'm gravely concerned about how this will impact the country. there are a lot of americans who will honestly believe it is an entire set up. something i learned from bill clinton is to watch for the people who don't vote for you, too. my other experience is i know how much it matters who is on the inside of the white house. there were probably four moments that stand out at a time where it could have gone the other way for clinton. i don't think he's ever in danger of getting convicted in the u.s. senate, but was definitely danger -- in danger of democrats. we can get wobbly on supporting our own people. the day of the impeachment itself. david was a staff person on the hill this is when bob resigned , as speaker. on that day, he resigned because he was caught having an affair with a lobbyist. we were terrified in the clinton white house that it would be a cascade. it was quick decision-making on the part of the staff and president on how to handle it. politics in prison of --
