cliven bundy has illegally been grazing his cattle on public land for over 20 years. ything away from mr. bundy. but in the case of the keystone extra pipeline its builder transcanada is using the power of eminent domain to take hundreds of miles of private land from private owners. while many conservatives were quick to defend mr. bundy's right to free load on the american taxpayers by refusing to pay his grazing fees, conservatives are pushing the pipeline and criticizing the obama administration. i'm talking about the rights of private landowners like randy thompson in nebraska. i would think the conservatives would be falling all over themselves to defend them against the big, bad government. where is the outrage! >> i think they would be outraged if this was a green energy project if they were going to seize people's land and put up windmills. clifb bundy supporters would be out there in full force. because this is an oil pipeline they are much more sympathetic to it being built and have ignored the issue of the private property rights being taken away here. >> ju

president obama got some laughs at the expense of racist rancher cliven bundy at saturday night's whitespondents dinner. the racist rhetoric we've been subjected to as a nation i think is absolutely no joke. first it was bundy. then it was this dude donald sterli sterling. former nba star kareem abdul-jabbar said this week he believes these incidents point to a larger issue. >> i did a bit of research. more whites believe in ghosts than believe in re schism. that's why we don't have -- that's why we have shows like ghost busters and don't have shows like racist busters. >> just look at what happened to montre montreal canadiens subban. subban won the winner goal against the bruins. unhappy boston fans took to twitter to send racist tweets. according to analysis, subban's name and the n-word were used simultaneously on 17,000 tweets on thursday. in fact, the n-word was a trending topic on twitter in boston after the game. not all of these tweets were negative. many boston fans chimed in to express their disappointment with the racist tweets, but the fact those fan hs to speak out against

. >> so how are these ranchers different from the cliven bundy sorts in nevada?there's some very striking similarities. i think that all of them have this connection to the land that's very strong. i think the way that they make their living and their lifestyle is the same. i think where they part ways, though, is that cliven bundy wasn't paying his grazing fees. all these people pay their grazing fees. they make that clear. then of course cliven bundy got distracted by making statements that a lot of people interpreted as racist. that was a distraction as well. but at the core of what they're about with regards to the land, i think they're similar. the way that they're handling that dispute is very, very different. >> okay. and the ranchers you spoke with basically were concerned that the government will take this land and turn it into a conservation area or a national monument with the goal of attracting tourism. is the blm in a sense confiscating land so it will create economic development? is there any truth behind this at all? >> that's one of the things tha

all of this happening in the wake of that armed standoff in nevada last month at the ranch of cliven bundy, over grazing fees for his cattle on federal land. in utah a group of ranchers say the federal government is not doing his job when it comes to controlling wild horses and they are about to take matters into their own hands. they filed a lawsuit asking 200 horses to be rounded up that they want to graze their life stock on. the dlm said it will remove the horses but it may not happen for months or years - it doesn't have the money and on top of that it's holding pens in utah are at capacity. it's holding about 1600 wild horses in the state. now, in southern new mexico another standoff is playing out. otaro country voted to open a gate and give a farmland access to a watering hold fenced off by the forest service, they say it's been there protecting a delicate area around a spring and a species of endangered mouse. the restricted area is 23 acres on a 28,000 anger grazing allotment. the rancher has repeatedly complained about the fence. to put the size of these places in perspective, o
