it began burning last night near -- off kinkade road just east of clover dale. obviously that led to the mandatory evacuations in many areas including where we're standing off geysers road. alexander valley road. you have mentioned those roads that people have been told they should evacuate because of this fire. i want to go to sound from a fire official and people in the area reacting to what's going on. >> weather conditions like this as firefighters we're not being effective stopping the fire. we need to evacuate. pay attention. >> i'm sure they feel helpless, they're working hard. you ve all the cal fire people, the hotshots people. >> reporter: there's some video we're showing near the flames of cars trying to getut of wn. in this geysers road area, alexander valley road, the roads i'm remembering right now but a number are being told to evacuate if they're near this fire. the kinkade fire burning in the distance. we know that pg&e weather stati stations last report more than 50 miles an hour. we're not feeling it down here. we'll continue to stay on scene

overnight near the clover dale area off kinkade road in that area. that fire is burning very strong here in geyserville. we had to move because it kicked up. we sent some video earlier when we arrived on the scene. you can see the images there of the fire. it's starting to grow a lot when it comes to the acres. we had to go down the road because it was starting to shift over the hillside where we were to the right of us, starting to shift a little bit. when we saw fire officials, were standing -- when they started heading out, that's when we head out. we're now going more towards highway 128 to try to find a safer area away from the area but growing in the area off geers road. >> pete, we also know they're evacuating so many areas there. you've seen a lot of cars, a lot of people leaving the area. it's also in the middle of the night. >> reporter: right. by the time we got here, i saw maybe a handful of cars off highway 128 or in that area. not many. we saw some there. that was also about an hour before we got up to geysersville road. there's no one
