it happened last night on can came road in cloverdale just minutes before cal fire responded to this incident. well the cause of the king cake fire remains under investigation. earlier thursday, pacific gas electric filed this incident report with the california public utilities commission. in the report pge says at 9 20 wednesday night that 7 minutes before cal fire responded to the fire. pg e became aware of a transmission level outage on the geysers number 9 lake bill power line. pg e goes on to say that on thursday morning at 7.30 one of their workers patrolling the line so that cal fire had taped off the area around the base of one of their transmission towers and a cal fire official told the pg e employee that there appeared to be a broken jumper on the same tower. now does that mean that genie responsible for this can kade fire at this point we don't know we've reached out to pg knee. >>first pacific sunwear this power line is where this tower was. role they know about this tower whether it was energized at the time that this. we have not heard back from pg e at this time in t

toward the bay area here the very latest on the fire conditions you can their geyserville healdsburg cloverdale mostly westerly winds right now that's a sea breeze that is currently blowing in that area. so that has taken that smoke and pushing it toward middletown also kellogg in calistoga maybe toward the napa valley things going to begin to change though as we head in toward tomorrow fact we're going to begin to see more of a northerly component to win so that is going to begin to drag a lot of that smoke right back down into the bay right or san francisco toward parts of the east bay. and what's interesting about topography of the bay almost acts like a bowl so once that smoke gets in there. it's kind of trapped without a way to get out so many parts of of the bay in around parts of the east bay and oakland the hayward in the fremont you're looking at a lot of smoke possibly piling up as we head in toward tomorrow afternoon. our quality certainly a concern the worst air quality in and around those with the fire right now. overnight tonight, the winds will turn call that means all that smoke

the cloverdale citrus fair and the hanna boys center on arnold drive in sonoma. >>> the power shut off has led to several school closures in sonoma county. all the schools in the alexander valley school district and at the geyserville unified school district are closed today . that is in the area of the fire. the santa rosa city school district has canceled classes at hidden valley elementary, rincon valley middle school, maria carrillo high school and the santa rosa accelerated charter school. the rincon valley union school district is shutting down five elementary schools. they are austin creek, sequoia, binkley, madrone and the sequoia campus of rincon valley charter schools. >>> pg&e officials will closely watch the weather today as they decide if they can start restoring power. but now there are new concerns about another and possibly even bigger round of power outages as soon as this weekend. pg&e is forecast shows more fire danger with high wind sunday and monday. steve paulson is talking about that too. the forecast shows the higher risk for power shutoffs in almost all service

gusting in cloverdale to 22 34 now and kellogg 29 in calistoga 22n saint alina 20 in po valley. in urban areas down below not a whole lot of wind we've had some gusts over 20 miles per hour periodic lee, but not a ton of wind. that's great news. so far but still you're getting the winds right over the tops of these mountains where we're seeing the fire right now that's going to be blowing these embers so firefighters got the work cut out for them tonight just trying to contain the line here and keep it from passing one oh one as we head into late tonight early tomorrow morning, red flag warnings of course are up for most of the bay area that will continue until 4 o'clock in the afternoon on wednesday. although i think by that time. the winds will much much calmer all around the bay area this really going to be a nighttime of them into early tomorrow morning. and then things are going to begin to change what we could really use is some rain right now you see that big dome of high pressure and not a hint of a raindrop right now you see couple these storm systems off the coastline
