we go to rick santelli at the cme group in chicago. >> good morning, david.lways think that the best source i've ever had following the markets as a reporter is the market itself. look at intradays of our 10-year and europe's 10-year, you can see that rates moved downright around 8:30 eastern. what happened at 8:30 eastern? we had a positive gdp number. the best since the second quarter of 2010. but it didn't have a 3 in front of it. it was 2.8. indeed, the market thought that was light. if you really dig into it, there's a little something for everybody. if you are one of the people that i hang around with that say stop spending, well, the government did slow spending. good chunk of it was in defense. it was slowered spending. that put it a bit lower. the real elephant in the room was the notion that inventories were a significant chunk of the t 2.8 number. that is for investors to digest moving forward. indeed, many are looking for some revisions a bit lower down the road. we'll have to wait and see. david, back to you. >> thanks for that. >>> ben bernanke'

rick santelli joins us from the cme. what's your interpretation, rick? >> whether it's the data bob mentioned or the generic notion that europe can't give us the details on greece, there may have to be a deal, a second deal for portugal. we see some deterioration in unemployment rates in some of the countries in europe. and, of course, the u.s. with regard to our jobs scenario reminds me a lot of that picture that bob was showing regarding the greek economy. sure, greek stocks are up big, certainly jobs have rebounded. but look where they were, where the private jobs labor force was in 2008. intraday five-year chart, 71 basis points. open it up to a year, you won't find a lower yield because this is historic low yield. one-year chart of tens, only nine basis points away from a historical low yield that i think sue was referencing at 1.71 on september 27th. if you look at the last chart, this is an etf of the investment-grade lqd for securities making new all-time highs again today. tyler, back to you. >> rick, thank you very much. >>> let's switch on the

rick santelli here on the floor of the cme group. we did have some disappointment regarding gdp today. don't take my word for it. look at the markets. now, let's start out with the currencies. we can see that the euro currency really came in strong. very little impacted that. we touched 132, we did it again. this is, what, highest level should we close here since december 9th. more importantly certainly doesn't look like anybody has anxiety that things will fall apart in greece. this is a market to pay attention to. intraday of 10s more disappointing with today's data. a beeline for 2%. gdp at 2.8 while the rest you can see we closed last week at 2:03 down 11 on the week. if you open to the chart going back towards december you can clearly see the fed meeting changed the week. we are clearly at the highest levels of 2012. and, boom, once the fed depicting a very, very soft economy moving forward, you can see how rates were effected. the last chart, the lqd, the etf that reflects the price, not the spread, continues to make passes at

this was a huge solar flair and a cme.gine it as a huge burp of gas really that comes off the surface of the sun. creates solar wind and heads towards the earth's atmosphere. it comes in at us at the weak spots. that's around the poles. yesterday this peaked. some flights were diverted away from the poles because of concerns for radiation. there were also some issues apparently with gps and satellite service, but nothing major has been reported. that's the good news. the bad news is it's not completely over and done with just yet. the solar alert remains in effect through today, but it's been downgraded. it's down to moderate. what does that mean? is there anything you need to be concerned about? passengers still in high flying aircraft could be exposed to radiation. the farther north up you go towards the pole, that's where it's going to be. as for satellite and gps reception, it's going to be kind of isolated single incidents. basically for the most part this thing is over and done with. the biggest impact that we had fr
