i run the middle east security program here at cnas. today we're going to spend a couple hours talking about the future of the middle east and specifically how we think about american policy in the context of the aftermath of at least the end of the isis califate. but obviously, isis remains a factor, as we saw just last week in sri lanka. and also looking more broadly at the region and the challenges we face. we have -- as part of this event we're rolling out two new reports. the first, solving the syrian rubiks cube. an instruction guide for leveraging fragmentation for u.s. policy objections -- objectives. we have long subtitles, that's how we like to roll here. that was written by my colleague nick harris and kaley thomas. and we will have a whole panel that dives deeper on what happens next in syria. and really look at options ultimately for american policy in syria, based on the level of commitment that the united states wants to make, and the level of investment the united states wants to make, as well as looking at the question
