i get it i'm a cnbc viewer as well as a cnbc host.ou know in the bond market you can look at it two ways and say okay, wow, that inversion is predicting a recession, everything is doomed or like bonds have just gotten added and it makes a, stocks more attractive and b, possible for companies to refinance their debt and buy back more of their stocks and make a more optimistic case for the equity market >> absolutely. and i would add that on about quantitative easing. it's not a done deal that a recession is going to happen in 18 to 24 months like an inverted yield curve often projects and it's not 100% accurate so you're certainlthat the equities coulde to do well in the foreseeable future. >> is big cap the biggest cap? the dividend players, the safest place to be? >> yes, here's why with the fed pivot that's happened over the last six months and obviously the fed taking a rates down approach, that's probably going to judge the dollar down going forward, not in a big way but we'll see a downward bias there and a dollar that's going do

i mean, i have to admit it welcome back thank you for being with us on cnbc happy wednesday.rian sullivan it has been a topsy-turvy week we're only on day three. the dow down 767 points on money. then up 311 yesterday, getting about half of it back. here's how things are looking right now. it looks like maybe the market is exhausted, like a boxer in the corner, just taking a seat for a round, not throwing punches. dow futures are basically flat right now after we have seen multiple hundred point moves nearly every session over the last five. in bonds, they're not taking a break. once again almost insatiable demand coming into u.s. government debt. bond yields come continue to come down. bonds up, yields, the ten-year at 1.68% now you may think that is very low historically for the united states it is. but consider that nearly 15 trillion worth of government debt around the world, countries like japan, germany, denmark, switzerland, they've gotten negative interest rates, so on that basis, u.s. government debt returns something which is anything let's check the asian markets r

you're watching "worldwide exchange" on cnbc. >>> welcome back it's 5:35 in the morning it feels like0:00 a.m. already, we already had that much news. the dow drop yesterday, 767-point drop the seventh worst point drop of all time stock futures right now, they are trying to -- that's not stock futures, that's yesterday. there's the stock futures. we like this one better. that's green dow futures, we're not up 700, but we're up 100 at least the selling pressure has not engaged and followed through yet. dow futures, nasdaq and s&p futures higher for some reason, if you were under a rock and missed what happened yesterday, here's a recap. every single dow stock fell monday the average decline was 2.7% drop 12 dow stocks fell more than 3%. apple fell 5% yesterday. the dow is 6% off the july high. in less than a month we've fallen 6%. the thing driving selling yesterday was the big drop in china's currency below that key 7-1 to the dollar mark china responding overnight their central bank trying to firm up their yuan setting a peg just above that. that's where we are now. the u.s./china yu
