cnbc senior economics correspondent is here. how did powell handle the concerns about people losing their jobs? >> he is in a tough spot and he handled it as well as he could. some people are going to lose their job because of these rate hikes. job market is so tight right now that some easing from the near record low, 3.6 unemployment rate, will only create a more normal situation. there are 11 million job openings right now which is some increasinrage level. powell says that high inflation is a zapping wage gains and reducing buying power. some increase in joblessness is a trade-off powell thinks is worth making. he said as you said, we are not in recession but would not forecast whether or not there might be one as a result of these rate hike. a lot of people on wall street think it's inevitable. >> what do you think the next rate hike will be? >> the fed said more rate hikes are likely to be appropriate. we could be entering a period where the feds will have to raise not as much. they need several months in a row of declinin
